seb
Mel b3 from here took me shooting a little while back and I had to get up at 3am to get there on time, I did not dream of letting him down after he gave up his spare time to take me. It was a great morning out and was worth getting up early for. Seb

stokie
I too have taken people out shooting that i have met on this forum. It is an introduction to like minded people who live in your area. Its up to you if you want to meet up with people and and share permission. Some people do appreciate the time and effort that you go to and others take it for granted and let you down thats human nature. I am lucky enough to have met 2 shooters on here that i now class as good friends and we regulary shoot together on each others permission and go to the clay grounds and have a great laugh. Dont get me wrong there are also some people I will not take again. Dont let the actions of a few put you off taking people shooting as the future of our sport depends on newcomers whether its clay , game or pest. richie76
Some people just haven't got manners or etiquette, What i cant understand is why he would rather be on PW than turn up for an arranged shoot. (NO offenece lads!!) Perhapps he was kidknapped by aliens and has lost his memory

ShropshireJohn
Manners cost nothing Exactly. I often open doors for people (older people than myself of any age) and most of them appear rather shocked that someone my age does such things! The younger generation are slipping these days

TheDodge
How about an elected person (a mod?) that can hold and update names on a list. Then if someone asks you to share your shoot you can check with the mod to see if he's on the list. Mods could also investigate the named person to see why he/she let the side down and offer advice as to whether the newbie is worth giving a second/third chance? Just an idea. winchester
just a quickie for all the lads looking to get shooting or a bit of experience.IF you make an arrangement to go out with some one that has taken the time to offer you a bit of shooting. would you please let the said person know if you cant make it. I almost let a member spoil things for newbies after being messed about last week, even my mrs said why the hell do you bother giving newbies a chance.now i dont want to name anyone and i dont want for this post spoil other oportunities for him or anyone else either.just show a bit of respect i can understand things like "i couldnt ring you as i didnt have any credit on my phone" but if you do find yourself in this or a simmilar position at least have the courtesy to send a pm. ok rant over now so come on lads treat people the way that you would like to be treated. paul, but thinking of changing my name to soft touch ps edited to add i am not trying to say all newbies fall into this catogorie WELCOME TO THE CLUB been there done that, takes The PI** Shant do it again thats for sure. Out of all the people i have met off this site Auto culto Dingo 45 and one i can not remember his site name have been top fellas the rest aint worth a toss Edited October 10, 2008 by winchester

AdamHall
hopefully this topic should put those un-named individual to shame and be a message to any others who might take the **** , it takes nothing to make a phone call but it takes lots of trust to give somebody a chance so think of others and not your selfs be curteous it costs nothing

If he spoke to you a few hours earlier and then did not turn up I would be worried he was injured or somthing as serious as that. taz. . NJW
like alot of newbies who have replied on this I for one would be a) sure i could accept an offer ie realistic about how close people are etc etc and i'd be sat outside wherever waiting with baited breath for the chance to learn and hopefully shoot a bit. It is great that the experienced guys on here offer to help. Try not to let a few ill mannered individuals put you off doing so in the future. jntree
As newbee myself i'd just like to say i amazed at the offer's that are given out by people and i also understand that one person could ruin it for all of us so fair play for putting your comments forward! LISTEN UP NEWBEES we can learn alot from ppl hear so lets not mess them around
myzeneye
ive been taken out by a few genuinely great blokes off this forum, ive learnt a whole heap of stuff from them, every trip out is a lesson as well as an opportunity to shoot.... there is not a cats chance in hell i would let these blokes down and i have, in the past, moved heaven and earth to keep an arrangment/appointment.... and rightly so... the only shooting i can get at the minute is from very generous offers from these guys as i just cant seem to land a permission of my own.... and when/if i do... ive learnt a whole heap of stuff to get me off the ground, id be pretty useless otherwise !!! so, if you do get the chance to go out with one of the lads, DO NOT **** them about.... so, thanks don, aidy, martin.... i owe you all a great deal..... matty
