Dunkield
Highly subjective, if you name one half a dozen people will tell tales of bad experiences. So to kick off in that vein I will say (on a good day) Minsterley ranges. I haven't been there for years, and I understand their stocking level goes up and down, but there can't be many shops with a 50 and 100 yard range + clay layout to try guns on. I would also have said Adenbourne but they let me down recently, so they have gone down in my estimation a bit.
wymberley
Hi, According to the Sporting Gun readers, it's Sportarm of Dorchester. Must say, I tend to agree. Cheers

henry d
Why not just use the most local shop and become a "regular" customer, that way you may get discount there and a cuppa etc. on a rainy day when things are slow. My local sourced a T3 for me at same price as the best deal I could find in the UK, I supplied them with Jay wings when they were short of them and demand was high and in return I got my scope at cost........ RC45
I like Bywell up north. I just love looking at all the expensive guns in there. There may be others of a similar ilk, but I try not to go to expensive shops too much. I also like Francis Lovell in Witney. Phil

smig4373
I agree with stuartp about minsterly ranges...great location and very very friendly....afriend and myself went there in march for some clays...we had 100 birds each...they just let us get on with it on our own...sun was out and it was a fantastic location...shop wasnt that well stocked with guns, but what they did have was reasonably priced and the owner was only to happy to talk to us.....great rifle ranges to... malkiserow
Norman Clark, Rugby. Superb. I rate Rugby gun shop as OK but not suberb due to the fact they are too busy to help much. Maybe Norman Clark is NOT rugby gun shop? perhaps someone can tell us....... Godiva guns Coventry probably gets the vote for WORST gunshop - he wanted £25 for RFD admin PLUS £45 for postage to send a gun to a new buyers/RFD. Also he has generally poor guns in stock. I'll stop here but there is more on manner etc! Sportsman Exeter get a vote from me as well for service, friendly and a broad range in their stock. Dunkield
I forgot to add about Minsterley, when I was unsure about which scope I wanted they handed me a handful of expensive glass and suggested I took them down to the range to compare. No deposit, no anything, just 'which ones are you interested in, well here they all are' Good old fashioned trust. But HD makes a fair point, look after your local shop or it will disappear. I buy my ammo locally even though I know I am paying over the odds. And they can surprise you, my most local shop undercut 2 larger less local shops by over £50 when I bought my ASE mod recently. 3 shops quoted me wildly different prices even though I know they were all buying exactly the same mod from Jackson Rifles. An interesting insight into how much mark-up shops really apply, despite what they tell you
Tin Man Work
I could not agree more about what people are saying about local shops; the more you go the better things are. I use Shooting Party in Pinkney, Malmesbury, in the Bath/Chippenham area, and Michael will provide superb value with whatever I have been after so I haven't been anywhere else for ages. No need to and I want to support my local supplier and source of shiney things.

edr
Derek Lee, Tumby, Lincs. Gets my vote, RC cartridges, cheap to exopensive guns, great service, about to double nearly triple his floor space with an extension. Great Gunshop especially for browingand mirukus. Glenshooter
Another vote for your local shop. Putting my money where my mouth is, I paid nearly £100 more for a Tikka recently but the service he gives is great and he looks after me in other ways (eg keeps my guns for free in his armoury when I am away for a few weeks on business.) And invites me to his private shooting club as well!!

EDR I'm with this man - Derek Lee gets my vote. Have bought three shotties from him, plenty of ammo and kit, and I've always had good service, and a good chat too with helpful advice.
