  1. I think what this thread has proven to me, maybe to others as well, is to think twice as to who you buy things off. If people want to just run with the flow and shoot and go fine. Sort of tells me more money than sense. For the cost of £30 more to brake a barrel in against the cost of a rebarrel or new rifle then its madness. Just running a thread around and around to try and make one feel better about their way of doing things is also madness. But as said. Research users post before you buy of them is about all I have gotten out of this thread. And about time it was closed
  2. Had a pixel blow on the XQ50 did the repair on that one and never had a problem since. That was over a year ago and used most days.
  3. Look, the way to see it is, your barrle, do as you please. If you think k it's right to shoot it in, then shoot it in. If you think it's right to shoot it and put it back in the cupboard then that's to you as well. Over the years I have read a lot of bs from no one with a name worth remembering and I have to the same note read the same from top flight target shooters. Me! I'm a wannabe. I wannabe doing the best I can for my barrels and me reloads because it don't grow on trees so if I think it will help improve the accuracy of one of the rifles then I'll do it, after plenty of research from the right people. We can all find a reason that barrel manufacturers will say brake it in and not to brake it in. You do what you think is right. I have done both, just shoot it and brake in. After my own results I will now always brake a barrel in. Where's the proof? In my head and that's all that really matters
  4. there are a good number around, but i drive for over an hour to dauntsey guns as they are the only one that has always had what i want, very friendly and will not sell you something you dont want just because its on their shelf. if they havent got an item they will tell you straight that they dont have it. up to you to then ask them for suggestions. thats how i like it.
  5. i had 500 when they first came out. i sold 350 of them for the same i paid of £50 a hundred. to twicky for the rifle and switched to 130TMK
  6. From Howa http://howa-rifles.co.uk/downloads/Howa-Break-in-Procedure.pdf Page 12 berara manual http://bergarausa.com/pdf/B14_Manual.pdf
  7. astonish paste. you will wonder what you ever did without it. amazing stuff.
  8. no need, just had to give it a chance to load and the images went from the photobucket grey square to the correct image. yes it works. i went to the photo section on here and then 'how to post photos with photobucket' the images all change to viable images. thanks Kev
  9. just testing if you can see the bullets then thank you Kev, it does work. it worked then it didnt
  10. Try heat from hair drier first. Just warming can be enough to get things moving
  11. ∆∆∆∆∆∆ this ∆∆∆∆∆∆
  12. First don't cut the size of your meals, it's will mess with your mind and you'll fail. Change what your eating and drinking. Lower your carbs, sugar and up your vegetables. If you want to load you plate then go for it but o oh a small single hand of carb. Very hard to cut the sugar as the brain craves it, didn't need it. Bit like nicotine. Same as fruit, even though we are lead to believe it's good for us, the fruit sugar isn't, so moderation is the key. Cut the wine as its sugar. Sports are fine as the sugar is now alcohol. Plenty of water and more before a meal. Eat slower as it takes a while to realise your stomach is full. Hard going but try a diabetic type diet. Don't cut the sugar or carbs, just lower the amounts
  13. Had the RT and sent it back. I sold the XT wish I hadn't Was told by Thomas Jack's that they would be black light. Nope can't even set it so the IR didn't come on. I ran out of elevation and windage by a long long way, 6" off still. No way to adjust like you can on the old XT. I ended up machining an old set of rings to sort this problem. Spoke again to Thomas Jack's who said that shimming the scope would void the warranty as it would put unnatural stresses on the tube. So don't do it. The RT wouldn't work with the usb to the PC. I has to steam to phone and then off phone to pc. Was it any better than the older XT for the extra cost? No! Youll Soon get bored recording things so that novelty soon wears off, image was still the same as the XT with eye shine blurring the image just you can zoom in X2 and have it even more blurry. Sent it back for a refund went back to the XT as I can't see £200 more being any better.
  14. Nigel Teague said to my years ago. thicker the grease the better. doesn't matter what it is.
  15. Nah! i have one or two. i cerakote all mine so no problems with flash or glare.
  16. Im selling the chester combi Mill/Lathe as im running out of room in the ShedShop. it is old but old is good so im told. i have made a lot of stuff on this machine but i keep going back to my old boxford so the Chester is getting used as a drill. taking to much room up for a drill really. 1meter high, 1 meter long, 1/2 meter wide. or there a bouts it will take a couple of strong people and time as the only way your going to carry it is to strip it. not as bad as it sounds and it gets you to know how things work as your setting it up. i can help strip it as it is easy. you will need a strong table top to sit in on. it sits on my worktop shelf unit with 4" legs which is staying. it will come with the 3 jaw chuck a 4 jaw independent chuck, a drill chuck and draw bar. plus all the chuck keys. you have a 4 way tool post as well. from what im reading it will do metric and imperial screw cutting but i have never tried this. i had it second hand thinking it would be a good idea but 3 lathes really isnt a good idea. This photo business is getting a pain in bum. cant upload images as to big even on the lowest setting on the phone. lest hope this works. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/c68c7d2dhnx5esq/AACYhPfMkrmNYh1ymyAImuBna?dl=0 if photos dont show in drop box then let me know your email address and ill send them that way. Price. im going to list it to sell. this is a one time price and i will not drop the price. £400 bargain of the year. if you want to buy and strip to put on ebay you will double your money then i will not be offended in any way as i just have no time myself to do this. im in Gloucester for the tablet readers. All the best Phil
  17. Oh dont you start lmao Opps Browning X-bolt .223 Stainless fluted. durex coating or something somesuch. not adjustable stock. Something about new old stock. so its this bit that throws the spanner in the works as i found 8-9 and 12 twists on the x-bolt from web searching. Who's the uk imports, anyone know (found phone number but they cant answer till later next week, wrong person in office) (BwM arms 01235 514550 for anyone else looking as it was a ball to find. well it was for me hehe)
  18. It's not really anything to do with being price dropped or window shopping. A rifle is for sale at the right price but I would like to know the basic information like twist rate before I go for a drive to collect. As I can't get the information I was hoping to get the info from someone possibly on here that has the same rifle or knows the rifle. Quite where your comments came from red dot I do not know.
  19. I try giving everyone a chance as we all have bad days. I'll Give them a chance and then spend the money else where
  20. use sticky boards. put them against the walls and wood work where you know the pests are using, this way you are removing them rather than hoping you have killed them off with poisons and leaving sticking bodys around the house.
  21. anyone had dealings with R J Hooper west mids. Been looking for a 223 with a 9 or 8 twist. found one ready to go and buy it. phone for the basic simple info of what twist is the rifle. it was almost like to much effort, like another trader i know, trying to tell you what you need rather that just giving the information so i can make an informed decision on whether im going to do the 3 hour round trip to get it. do i bother or just order from else where?
  22. Sold as a package but willing to adjust accordingly to suit buyers needs
  23. I think all the people you have ever dealt with should be leaving you feed back, soon push this idiot back into the ground from where he came
