  1. not yet but about to do my tikka stock, once i find the cheaper alternative for the activator liquid. 2K thinners it what ill try monday
  2. Ask the armed police what they would do, bet it's no walk away. Pepper spray then taser followed by knee and elbow in the back and face along the tarmac. Bet they don't get a warning for defending themselves
  3. You will still have the problem with capacity. Cut the barrel down you have to cut tube down too. Every 1 inch of barrel is 1 less 22 round. You will not gain anything. Look for a bolt with round mag as their flush, or a semi that you can have a 25 shot mag. Then you can see if you drop the mag
  4. i have had a good look and just cant find anything. just seams strange that there made in that country just he whats mine, would have thought it easier for him to buy there
  5. Been asked if i will send a Photon RT to Slovakia. not really was my reply but he is being insistent that it will be fine to send and he will pay the postage. Sounded a but wrong to me so i thought i would ask the masses. Whats the law on scope, mainly night vision scopes, being sent from UK to Slovakia. Thanks gents.
  6. i have a Photon RT for sale if anyone's looking for one. £500 posted. Cant do photos as i cant shrink to fit but i can if you want emailed. everything that comes with it is still there. Please bare in mind that some photons need a rear packer on the ring or adjustable rings. this was on a tikka with optilocs and it was fine. using eneloop pro black batteries and used 3 sets between this and the thermal spotter it worked all night when left on rat shooting. 2 sets when foxing, when they went half way i swapped out with the ones in the thermal. never had battery life issue. Pick up from Gloucestershire area possible if you wish. All the best Phil.
  7. Have a s+b with a dent on the under side of the rear mount. One guess the cause. It's second hand on a friend's rifle. He bought it that was as it was very cheap.
  8. Can't you just use brass mig welding tips? Saves drilling the tiny holes
  9. Sent it back. Just because there was very little stock in the RT, I was not keeping something that was not good just because it was new and no one else had. If it don't work, it goes back. They need to sort out their problem not let the public bodge.
  10. I do on the 222 but I have added a little more weight to it so it's not a touch and release, also the main trigger I have bought down in weight. One of the problems with a heavy trigger is you pull the rifle to one side as your trying to get the heavy trigger to break.
  11. Over the years I have seen many a damage on tubes, you can always see it as it leaves the ring mark on the tube from the front edge of the ring base Had a photon RT that ran out of elevation, spoke to importers and said I wouldnt bodge the rings and take part in this shimming trend that seams to be happening. They said glad I did not shim as it will void warranties and putting a bend in the scope tube. If you have to shim then there is something wrong. It might be a common thing but it's a bodge to get around a manufacturing fault, normally a Chinese one, I don't do bodge.
  12. Never been asked, the feo knows I reload, good enough for them
  13. Made a few over the years, mostly barbel/heavy feeders and carp rods. I have lost contact with all the places I use to buy from as shooting got in the way. But, make sure you buy and use the best you can afford in the way of reel mounts, silk and rings. The top coat is very important as well. Some yellow over time. I use to use a two pack clear and a shirnk base coat to pull the threads down tight. Make a wipping sled, very easy and makes life easy. I use sawing machine thread tensioner. To hold a consistent tention. A couple vee blocks from a plank screwed to a foot of plank and felt line the vee to prevent the rubbing marks on the blank. I made an adjustable length one as made life easier on the fine tips. Take your time, don't rush the finishing stages and make sure you find the spine/back bone on the blank. This can make a hood blank behalf like a Woolworths rod when casting and playing fish. I use the wipping stand, a loop on the one end to hold the blank and allow it to spin. Then weight the tip of the blank, spin the blank slowly and watch the weight on the tip for rise and fall. A marker on the floor upto the tip helps. Good luck, have funny, show us the results
  14. make some quad sticks. i did put a post up a while back on how to make a set. cost to make, About £25. if they brake then its only £25 to make another set. i have been using for many years and will not use or buy anything else now. i really cant see why i need to spend £100+ just because someone says there the best.
  15. There is plenty of people on here that will tell you how to shoot
  16. Umm, yer ok. I better stop the wife using it to remover the nail varnish. Better stop using brake cleaner as well then. I use the stuff by the gallon when degreasing rifles, and better stop using when cleaning up after using fibreglass. Everything is dangerous if used incorrectly.
  17. Nice work there. Can't believe how sharp this blade can get. I'm happy with mine too.
  18. i didnt say mongrels, i think it was Heinz 57 (H57) hehe not had many problems with my cockers in the field. apart from big cuts, joints having problems, lumps from black thorns. just the run of the mill stuff. only thing is, £30 a month each now for their insurance as their KC reg. if they where Heinz dogs then it would have been £10 a month. According to the insurance companies, Heinz dogs dont get so sick. lmao. must have armour jackets to stop them getting cut up i thinks
  19. If your not into the breading the go spocker. people will say you are taking a chance at getting a pile of **** but i have seen many many pile of kennelclub dogs. i run cockers but when times comes i will replace with spockers. main reason is the vet bills on the shoots, they do get banged up so you do use the insurance. H57 dogs are a lot cheaper to insure and they will do the same job as the rest.
  20. Been using two different deerhunters for the last 9 years. In that time I have gone through 5 seeland and 3 halika. Stick with deerhunters as the others your paying for name and marketing
  21. First put in for the calibre you want. As the Titan is interchangeable you can then purchase a second barrle. You have to either go with the same case head size or you will also need a different bolt. All the titans, 3 and 6 have changeable bolts from what I'm reading
  22. You asked for a quick tip, ready for it. Go shoot it Lmao
  23. it is done a lot over in Europe. safety really only stops the bolt opening, unless you have a firing pin locking type safety. i can see their point on it but then i can also see other problems happening. most of our shooting is the stalk and we have time to slip a quite round in if your climbing fences and hedges. over there its more of see it shoot it. each to their own and all that but im happy slipping a quite one in.
  24. Look for one piece reach farward mounts and then turn them around. I paid about £5 for mine and just changed the QR to a fixed type.
