  1. I just got it this morning. It's a great bit of kit, well made and easy to use. Yes, the screw allows you to vary the cut. All so simple when it's in your hands. Mine came from Folkestone Engineering £34 delivered. I would have bought yours Snow White.
  2. I'm looking at a Gaep case trimmer but I cant find any instructions or YouTube videos about it. For example is it adjustable. Can I vary the length of the trim? If anyone has one I would be grateful for some information. Predictive nuisance.
  3. R.E.M., could you post a video or some pics of your setup?
  4. I don't own a chronograph but I have had my birdshot chronied at a level 3. It was GB 7's so there was no problem. But...if I make some buckshot shells it might be a problem because I would be guessing the Power Factor. Pattern would be my primary concern for now. I make slug which are accurate and reliable using 20 grains is Vectan AS. I was going to replicate that load to begin with for the buckshot.
  5. I'm going to try reloading some buckshot shells for IPSC Practical Shotgun. I need to make sure I get it right because a mistake can be costly when buying the components. My question mostly concerns the size of the lead balls needed to make a complete shell. Is there a standard size? The website I am looking at, Shellhouse, lists different sizes. Can anyone tell me what size is the standard or is Thera standard even. My guess is .357 diameter. Has anyone dabbled making IPSC Buckshot?
  6. The humble AYA Yeoman. Longtime favourite for pigeon.
  7. You can buy a set of springs to replace 1. The ejector spring, 2. Trigger spring and 3. The lever spring. when I replaced the triggerspring I considered it too light, like hair trigger light, so I went back to the original which I thought was fine. Try YouTube. I saw one guy ease the trigger by adding a shim under the existing flat spring. I think he used a flattened piece of coke can. i don't know of any way of "home smithing it" by filing etc. I read loads about the Rossi 92 and have never heard of anyone filing or stoning the mechanism, but let us know how you get along with your project.
  8. Errol is a gentleman but he doesn't have a great selection of guns. He's good for cartridges though, very competitive.
  9. Many clubs say the membership is closed but, of course, it's not. Start with your firearms dealers and tell them what you want and ask for an introduction. Keep at it.
  10. I'm sorry that I've no solution to your problem. I believe you need a cabinet maker not a gunsmith though. When I saw the photo I immediately thought the grain of the wood was at fault, nothing to do with rough handling, and so it will never be repaired. Many rifles have a different, harder wood in that position, maybe for good reason. However, it's a bit much this happening in a Perazzi. Let us all now any resolution you find.
  11. Nice rifle. Does it take 10 cartridges in the tube. It's for Cowboy Action so 9+1 is not allowed.
  12. Very interested in the Chiapas 92

    1. Is the original rear sight complete. I want it for Cowboy Action.

    2. Will the tube take 10 rounds of .357? This is important.

    3. Does the gun handle .38 special.

  13. I've only bought once but it was a good experience. I was interested in a Lee Enfield SMLE. I bid £115 and got it. Locally I was asked £800 for one. I rang Holts who went and got the rifle and described it over the phone. I was happy. When I got the gun the front sight was loose and was replaced by me. I would not have expected Holts to notice that. I was emailed immediately by them a bit like eBay.
  14. I shot my last hare 30 years ago and swore never to do it again. My choice. My father shot plenty and we ate them all, stewed. But, there's just something about them that lifts them above anything else. Let's not even talk about their mystical associations. Like I say, my choice.
  15. Yes, that's the Mournes. This is my best field but I didn't fire a shot on it this year. There were birds on it during early September but only on flattened patches so I didn't want to wade through the standing barley. My other good field wasn't in barley but silage and nothing there either. Two good days on OSR though.
  16. Seems like a good idea not to show on a forum exactly who you are, especially when a shotgun suitable for Practical Shotgun is concerned with 9, 10, 11 or more capability. There's no compromise with security.
  17. The Mossberg is a classic for good reason, it's great gun. I use mine for Cowboy action and decoying pigeons. I wish it were a multichoke though.
  18. Mason, take down your avatar, if it is yourself.
  19. Never. When reloading collar holding the case is hollow so nothing can set the primer off.
  20. You cannot own an "Assault Rifle" in the UK except for small Calibre .22. I've seen one or two that are straight pull but that is the same as a bolt action rifle. Some who are contributing here seem to have a tenuous grasp of guns in general and who and what you can own. The vast majority of people have no knowledge of shooting and have no sympathy either so we are "easy meat" for legislators who are equally ignorant of firearms. The NRA has grown strong by taking a Not An Inch attitude in the USA. Who could blame them when we see fellow shooters in the UK gladly endorse the banning of guns that they don't have. IT OFFENDS ME AND MY SENSABILITIES SO I WANT IT BANNED.......but never mind the rights of the law abiding minority.
