  1. I know what you mean. It took me a while to get it. Resizing is the key because all my photos were"too big". I work from an iPad.
  2. I makes you very cautious about any of his other statements, "driven to extinction, almost extinct, since records have been kept, rising sea levels , global warming ". The overstatement blandly trotted out and accepted.
  3. Ask another fish and chip van? Hot drinks are always welcome.
  4. I wonder why they allow anyone to own a gun of any kind. Why not ban them all, that would be easy.......except your rights as a law abiding citizen would be horribly compromised. Who wants to live in that society? And yes the last sentences. The criminals still use them no matter what..........Just not Joesph Sixpack on a Saturday morning. He can't be trusted. Stupid article.
  5. Just thinking that while a Dremel would not engrave it could be used to give shadow effects and texture.
  6. Vampire, love to your work. Can you post a pic?
  7. Here's a nice one. Posted that one twice. http://i.imgur.com/Ujyjl5Y.jpg
  8. http://i.imgur.com/gG5uJmH.jpg http://i.imgur.com/gG5uJmH.jpg http://i.imgur.com/HwZOVlB.jpg I hope these upload. They were taken at the Nuremberg Gunshow last year. I have a limited experience in engraving. When at Art College I watched guys do it. Mostly silver which is much softer than steel. I made my own engravers but it's an Artform of course. I can't see any Dremel tool doing it. I'm thinking that much of the work is done while the steel is soft them subjected to the Hardening process. I'm certain my Yeoman No. 3 was engraved simply them Case Hardened. Please let us see anything you try.
  9. I remember when I was a painter we used lots of Nitromors to strip the varnish from front doors. Good stuff, just watch yourself when going to the loo. I used it once also to strip Winchester 550. It had a laquer finish. The Nitromors was useless, though on CZ rifles and old Spanish S/S' s it did the job.
  10. Keep us posted on it. Another post on PW mentioned that Nitromors was inferior. What did you use?
  11. Bit disturbed to hear that Nitromors doesn't work or doesn't work as well as it did. I am also waiting to get at a Yeoman.
  12. Great video. Once, years ago, I had the shooting of a good stretch of Strangford lough. This Saturday I watched as a skeen of geese circled and circled over stubble. Oh the excitement. But they never came within shot. I was excited and didn't even shoot one so well done.
  13. This looks like fun. I've looked at a few YouTube vids on how to cast shot but none so far this morning, show you the all important point............what's the shot like, nice and round, pearshaped, blob?
  14. I'd love to see how to make shot. Please share rather than PM
  15. Lovely unusual piece and thank you for taking the bother to photograph and post. It all adds to our knowledge. I know nothing about it but glad to have peruse it.
  16. I wouldn't worry. Make your application and follow it thro. I doubt Firearms want to here other than a serious criminal record. Hey we could all fess up but why should you? Ask yourself .."..Are you a law abiding citizen" if yes proceeed like everyone else here.
  17. Down The Line, Sporting, Mini Rifle, Cowboy Action, Wood Pigeon from a hide and PSG. One gun can't do it all. One gun if I lived on the Prairies.
  18. Remember when you eagerly awaited the BBC trailer showing which films were to be screened over Christmas. Not no more. How many times have I looked at the listings, faced palmed and muttered Christ.
  19. There was a great cartoon when the bricks was exhibited. It showed 2 suited experts looking at the bricks, one says to the other "It's a fake". Time Team did an episode on the whereabouts of the Fighting Temeraire and traced it to a muddy river bank. It had been used as a hulk or some sort of coastal lookout. A few years ago we drove up to Derry to see the Turner Prize exhibition. We were having a laugh around a blank part of the room "Now this I like " sort of thing. It was an entry in the Competition!!!!! If it had won the artist would have got a check for whatever it is K10 or something for.........nothing. Great weekends drinking though.
  20. Foggy, I can't find any real alternative to lacquer except Renaissance Wax.........maybe. Nail varnish could work and I am reluctant to spray anything as it runs easily..........but I'm still looking. The idea of a lacquer is good one as it will definatly enhance the Case Hardening colours. Figgy........sorry .......predictive sod.
  21. http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/RAP-65Creedmore.jpg Is this it? Shooting out to 1000 yards.
  22. Very nice video......loved the piano also.
