Nobody cares about Ireland, its just a red herring. If Ireland is worried about its border its up to Ireland to do something about it not us. Its not our problem His incoherent trolling activities usually take place late evening, reading between the lines, I think we can work out why

I live very close to RAF Northolt and the Chinooks fly over us regularly. I always stop to watch them. Years ago the Lancaster used to fly in and out most weekends in the summer, along with several other old planes doing airshows. The Lanc was the most memorable, it practically took the chimney pots off my mum and dad's house it came over that low. Now that really did make the windows rattle

There is absolutely no link between a bird being lost to the survey and the assertion that it was illegally killed. The case could easily and equally be made for Alien abduction or predation by big cats. Not to mention bird flu and killed by pesticides or hit by drones. Seriously though, could have easily been netted by "bird rustlers" who do sell them on at great profit Must not jump to conclusions that can't be proved unless you are an anti with an agenda

Bottle of wine or whiskey is the usual currency for gentlemen in these circumstances.

When I first started shooting there were still lots of WW2 pistols about, lugers etc that were war trophies. As long as they didn't have the MOD broad arrow stamped on them the police would just add them to your certificate without question. They were just glad to see them put on the register and that was how it should be.

Rimfire Magic is the top company for 10/22 based rifles. Been there several times and found them very good.

Most scientific research of this type is published by somebody writing a thesis as part of their study towards a PhD. The nature of the educational qualification is that they have to discover or identify "something of scientific interest or significance" So the dice are loaded, they can't say we found absolutely no evidence to support...……..

My mum's carer is Hungarian. Through her and her husband we have come to know quite a few Hungarians. My impression is its quite basic but very cheap

Personally I would just phone your local licencing dept and get a FEO to come to you and take away the walking stick. Do not transport it yourself to police station, Its still illegal possession. Don't let them take the muzzle loader, that's legal

Not wishing to open a can of worms here, but with reference to the great deal of discussion about the terms of general licence recently. Is it actually legal to charge (or pay) for pigeon shooting? As far as I know, you can't shoot pigeons for sport (yes/no?)

Copper shot (not plated)
Vince Green replied to Smokersmith's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
Copper shot was predicted to be THE next big thing, it was going to replace lead, kind on old barrels, cheaper to produce than steel. I don't know what went wrong. It appeared to tick all the boxes. -
A lot of stuff on the internet about these scams, many of the rip offs are more subtle. Things like putting through charges several days later for things like missing floor mats, missing tyre inflators or jacks that are hard to dispute. Broken door locks is a very common one, how would you know? Everybody uses the key fob to open the door

I think they all do

Not everybody can use beam scales, they are technically beyond some people to understand how they work. I have met a few when I was club secretary that lack of understanding can be potentially very dangerous

I have heard similar stories when people have returned lease cars at the end of the term and get charged for non existent damage or inflated charges for minor wear and tear.
-
Its all cut and paste these days, leases and tenancy agreements, job contracts etc are not written individually anymore. They are just downloaded from legal websites specialising in pre written legal documents in exchange for a fee. The result is a 'one size fits all' document with every clause imaginable neatly covered. Some appropriate, others not

In London they now build dwellings with no parking making it obvious what the council's intentions are for the future. It suits the developers too, they can get another half a house on two parking spaces. I have just bought a flat in St Austell Cornwall, terms of the lease includes no vans, no minibuses, no caravans or boats, no externally visible washing, no pets and NO FIREARMS, no short term lets, etc

I've heard that as well. a customer of mine had police round his house about 11pm one evening for non payment for fuel but he was able to pull a receipt from the door pocket of his car. When he asked what would have happened if I hadn't had the receipt the copper said you would have been arrested and charged with theft. they had come to arrest him, it slightly threw them when he had a receipt because they had been told it was a straight forward drive off. . always get and keep a receipt

It won't be long before 1) it all gets messy 2) The Chinese Govt comes down on Hong Kong a ton of bricks in a massive over reaction 3) Lots of the smart money pours out of Hong Kong and London will be the obvious destination for it So actually the UK economy could get a little boost from this

My son has just returned from a holiday in Southern France. They hired a car through the same website they booked the villa. He's only 22 so not terribly streetwise. The car was a "good price" but not new and a bit ropey. Still it didn't ring any alarm bells. When he took the car back on Saturday the charged him £800 for damage like scuffed wheels and a few old marks on the bodywork that were not down to him. Classic rip off, be careful is the message, when he got back home he checked them out and there are hundreds of reviews say avoid at all costs, its a scam, rip off etc You can't stop them because they have already taken a swipe of your card so the charge just gets pushed through. He's going to talk to visa tomorrow.

Here be Dragons, lots of shooting though I would imagine

Before long I think all petrol stations will only use the petrol as bait for the shops (which are getting bigger) so its only going to get worse. I often fill up at an ASDA because its really cheap but that means its often got three or more cars queuing behind each pump. When the car on the first pump drives out the car on the second pump behind it is still filling up so the next car in the queue can't move forward. Chavs take the opportunity to reverse in from the exit onto the empty pump
