  1. The man is a complete waste of space. His career has been a catalogue of failure and poor judgement. People forget his disastrous election campaign and the Ed Stone Remember he is " The wrong Milliband" and always has been. The runt of the the litter. The good one cleared off to America and never looked back
  2. Good point, even if you have parking outside your house you can't run cables across the pavement or be sure to get that space every evening. Millions of such houses in Britain. Also what about flats? The whole idea is so badly thought out its just ridiculous
  3. Not to mention EVs have a higher initial cost and spectacular depreciation. Add to that ridiculous insurance premiums and they become a poor financial prospect.
  4. Nobody in the know buys German (or French or Italian) cars any more. The forecast that electric cars will price three quarters of the present car owners out of having a car does not bode well for any car manufacturer Or for that matter all the ancillary businesses associated with cars. The garages, petrol stations, the likes of Kwik Fit, the insurance companies and so on. Even the motorway services and car parks
  5. We have been telling everyone for a long time that the EU is going to collapse and we (Britain) must get out before it does. Germany is in a pretty similar situation to France Fortunately enough people in this country had the sense to vote for Brexit and we are at least not liable for their debts. The trouble is virtually every other member state is in debt too. I can't see any way out. The remainer rose tinted view of the EU as some sort of Utopia where the sun shines every day and happy people sang and danced in the street was never true. It was always a cynical exercise in control for control sake.
  6. This ^^^^ And yet China burns more coal in one year than Britain has burnt in the past 120 years. That's an incredible statistic Is China pursuing net zero? No it isn't. While we destroy our own economy with some stupid woke ideology that can never work . Ford has said its going back to making petrol cars. The implication being it sees itself going the same way as VW if it doesn't do a quick about turn. One of the things about electric cars which the people promoting net zero don't say is that it is expected that far fewer of them will on the road Perhaps a quarter compared to petrol cars. Higher purchase price, rapid depreciation (battery life seven years) and much higher insurance will price most car owners out of being able to afford one.
  7. Oh yes "Where do you come from? "England " "Is that in France?" This level of ignorance about the world in general is actually very common. The person who made that comment to me was not some Hick from way out in the Boonies It was a fairly senior manager in the multi-National company for which we both worked at the time.
  8. Part of that, and I think you have to have lived in the USA to fully understand this, is just how isolated the average American citizen is from the real world. They live in small towns and get very little information from their news media.
  9. And he is threatening to arrest Senior members of the Democrats and their donors if he gets in Anybody else you would think he can't be serious
  10. O Apparently he is already mobilising an army of republican election deniers from the last election to subvert and ultimately wreck the forthcoming election if he doesn't win. We saw what happened last time. This time they will be prepared. It could be very serious indeed, the National Guard is traditionally made up of members with Republican leanings
  11. Which is why it's coming out now. The rich have the best lawyers. I knew about Fayed, I thought it was common knowledge? Certainly no big secret. He was charged with groping a 15 year old in 2008 and bought his way out of trouble. It was dropped by Starmer when he was head of CPS. Presumably a too hot to handle case
  12. I was surprised to learn a few years back that Jeremy Corbyn is a multi millionaire . He cleverly gives out the impression that he hasn't got a pot to ..... in
  13. For which I will never forgive him as long as I live. That was not his money to take, and when several years later the funds started coming up short he was long gone.l
  14. Not just people's pension savings John. MY pension savings
  15. However, they were saying on the radio that it clearly comes under the same international ban as landmines because they are indiscriminate. Israel must have known this but did it anyway. They don't seem to care what the rest of the world thinks.
  16. He also doesn't say what "better" is going to look like if and when it arrives. I'm not at all sure that his idea of 'better" would be the same as mine.
  17. The story gets more likely to be just a man out playing with a rifle. Shooting at tin cans or whatever. Which happens a lot in USA, and it's legal to do so over there. Maybe not on a private golf course but that's just being stupid not criminal You don't fire a number of shots to announce your presence if you are going to assassinate someone
  18. The compensation scheme is difficult to assess. OK so if I was done for a discrepancy of £20, 000. They repay me the £20,000 and that's OK? No it's not I bought that business for £165,000 and because I lost the post office I had to sell it for £70,000. Which I didn't get anyway because the mortgage company took all that My loss of earnings these 25 years is £500,000 pounds. I lost my house . That was repossessed. Today it would be worth £500,000 And they think repaying the £20,000 is going to make it alright Dream on
  19. They should have given up a few years ago when they were at the top of their game. (Always leave them wanting more) Instead they didn't know when they had topped out and were becoming tired and clichéd. Now they are a bit same old same old But they are still a million times better than the t0ssers that tried to replace them. They really are rubbish
  20. Yes but after the debate was broadcast he went back on air somewhere else to say it was true what he said and the fact checker was lying. The man just doesn't ever give up. That's really scary when you consider this is a presidential election
  21. When did it become "wasn't "? Trumps links with the Russians is well known and well documented
  22. Because we don't train anywhere like enough
  23. Although you talk about the doubters living in a twilight world there are still significant questions and inconsistencies that have never been answered. Fuelling the conspiracy theories
  24. This is true but you try and tell the American people that trump is Putin's poodle
  25. Bus passes next? Then what? free prescriptions for over 65s? And yet we are still giving away billions in Foreign Aid. If he had walked in and said Foreign Aid is out the window everyone would have patted him on the back and said now we are getting some where
