I don't think they can be bothered to turn a blind eye. Even that would require a modicum of effort to achieve. If you don't look in the first place, you don't find anything that requires a blind eye. I've told this story before, years ago my cousin worked in a job centre in Merseyside. They were told, and it came from the top, no matter how unbelievable the story was just give them the money. Don't argue and don't query it. We don't want them kicking off in here or waiting outside for you when you leave at 5 o'clock to beat you up.

All potential future Labour voters come the next election

Never forget they ditched the Rwanda scheme practically the first day they got into power. And before they got into power they did everything they could to obstruct and delay it. They think we are like sheep and will soon forget these things. And yes to the other question, the French took the dead and injured off the boat and let the rest carry on with their crossing having radioed the British coastguard to pick them up. That tells you everything you need to know about what the French are about.

He's not doing anybody any harm, if that's what he wants to wear, carry on. Who are we to judge? There are worse things in this world.

How , reaĺistically, is the government ever going to smash gangs located in places in Albania and West Africa or Eritrea? It's just never going to happen as long as those who make it to these shores are allowed to stay? The only way to stop them coming is the absolute certainty that their feet will barely touch British soil before they get deported again. No ifs, no buts, no maybes.

Let's just stop calling people 'economically inactive' it's impossible to be 'economically inactive'. Even if you are living off the bank of Mum and Dad that income would probably be taxable. You can't even give money away without it being taxable. It's just down to shoddy data gathering and lazy investigation of dubious stories IMHO.

I doubt that Labour will have any more success than Conservatives did in over coming the inertia in the Civil Service

How long do you think Starmer and Raynor will keep their jobs before they get kicked into the long grass by the hard liners?

Ah? but I suspect that quite a fair number of that 82.4% have got some form of side hustle going on. That's another issue that the new government have hinted they will be looking at. They have said they will be looking at the bank accounts of benefit claimants To me that's so bloody nieve . It shows to me they don't realise money can be paid into a family members account or cash in hand to hide earnings

If you are having problems then having to (possibly) give up shooting is a lot better option than trying to tough it out without help and have the whole word fall down around your ears . They will take your guns then anyway. Depression is not something to take lightly. I have seen it in my family. Get help.

A lot of long term unemployed are moved onto "the sick" to manipulate down the unemployment figures. That gives the individual access to more benefits and effectively locks them into benefits for life but it gets them off the jobcentre's books and having to pretend they are looking for work. It's virtually a one way street at that stage. Trying to get them back to work would be very hard. There are virtually no jobs that would give the same income as they are getting on benefits (without having to get up in the morning)

I read from a usually impeccable source that she is planning to attend meetings of the EU finance ministers. So, if that's correct, it shows pretty much where she stands.

Only selectively true. We issued approx 350,000 visas last year to workers in the care sector. Most of them are unskilled and unqualified carers. Some will be doctors and nurses but not most. We also issued approx 110,000 visas for family members of those carers

They just have to have a job to go to That's not unreasonable

EU workers can still come here and lots still do. It's not as though they are banned from coming here. All they have to do is fill in a few forms.

An INTERESTING Viewpoint from the Car Sales Industry

Honda produce a 2.6 petrol version of their CRV Popular in America and Australia it has never been sold here. The biggest engine sold here was 2.0 petrol Not suprising given the weight of the vehicle the 2.6 is reckoned to give better fuel consumption than the 2.0 so how does that help the environment? -
You have to remember that £70,000 is their basic pay. Overtime and weekend working can take that figure much higher than that.. Like the Doctors, this is a politically motivated strike.

Get your parts from Best Part Store It looks like a British website but actually it's German and all the parts comply with German type approval laws Recommended to me many years ago by the Mercedes Owners Club it's also very cheap. We maintained a lot of mercs for a long time using their parts. But I've given up on Mercedes now and gone to Japanese. Never looked back

What about USA and fracking? The key thing about all these countries is that they are burning their own carbon reserves to produce their own energy. Where as we close down our pits and buy energy from abroad in various forms. You really couldn't make it up

But these people are living in a time warp. -
Is the same as the ULEZ in London. An old lady with a ten year old car can't drive it 5 miles once a week to get her shopping and has had to scrap it. However, a minicab driver with a car a few years newer is allowed to do a thousand miles or more a week with no restrictions. Or a parcel van working all hours stopping and starting Who is producing the pollution? Because it isn't the old lady but she had to get rid of her car.
