Woman on BBC 3CR has successfully returned hers to the supplier and got a full refund under the "not fit for purpose" Consumer Rights Act.

OK-lets cut to the chase - the warranty supplied with the boots is nothing to do with a situation like this-once you accept that fact you can start to do something about your faulty goods. An expensive boot such as the Harkilla falls under the new Consumer Rights Act and , if the rubber has indeed perished, is simply "NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE". The next important thing to remember is that , unless you bought them direct from the manufacturer, then your claim is against whoever sold you the boots - take them back and offer them the chance to deal with your complaint - you need to offer them a reasonable opportunity to put things right and you should make a note of dates and who you spoke to etc. The boots are not fit for purpose because they have simply not lasted a reasonable amount of time considering the price and use you have had from them - of course if there's a hole in them caused by a puncture of some sort then the seller has no responsibility but if you can clearly see that the rubber has perished then I cannot see how they can refuse to help.

Had one of these years ago and sold it - still kicking myself regularly.

By a dirty old man in a raincoat?

If sucking a Fisherman's friend doesn't take your fancy then 1/2 bottle of neat syrup of figs usually stops you coughing.

Is there any point in gun fitting if you are not going to buy a gun? Bit like being measured for a suit that you have no intention of buying?

Bought this second hand about 3 years ago and never had the chance to take it out .Everything seems to work as it should and the unit comes with expensive headphones and a dedicated built in probe. God alone knows where the manual is but it can be down loaded easy enough although it is quite large (not really a beginners machine). Condition is about 8/10 but needs a good dusting!! Anyone who knows about detectors will realise that these machines are up with the very best performance wise, this is the SE version but does not have the power boost facility (I believe that the software can be updated?) - I'm looking for £350 collected from MK area and I think that's the cheapest I have seen but if you know better then get in touch.

My views are far more simple than the vast majority of those on this forum lucky enough to understand the matter and fight for their corner (one way or the other) - that we were lied to by the Government to trick us into entering will cost them my vote no matter how much they try and hoodwink us again into staying-it's simply a matter or principle.

Problem here is, I think, that the gun was cheap to begin with so it's expected lifespan is going to be a lot less than ,say, a Beretta semi costing 4 times the amount. A general figure(BBC3CR Consumer programme)seems to be around 20% loss per year of usage so I would say that £200 is going to be pushing it a bit.

No apologies needed whatsoever Sir, proof marks are a Minefield at the best of times but throwing in BP specifics as well causes further confusion. I would suggest getting the chambers measured if the gun is to be used as they are most likely 65/67mm or 2 1/2" in old money. If the OP wants to use it he needs to prepare himself for a shock-Just Cartridges hold the last stock of the Gamebore? BP shells and I'm pretty sure they are over £25/box.

AFAIK - "Not for Ball" was used by the Brum proof house till 1887-this was then changed to the 12 over the C inside a Diamond to denote the same warning?
-
Always thought that 12 over a "C" was simply-12 nominal gauge & C means choked and therefore not suitable for ball?

Bought my first PCP in, I think, 1992 (AA SM100) and had them ever since-hate to think how many years I have spent shooting vermin with them but I can honestly say that I have NEVER needed to refill while I have been out.
-
None of the above-hunt down some RWS Hollow point subs.
-
Springers are harder to shoot accurately because of the movement upon firing-simples. If you want to kill things cleanly and with less effort then get a PCP-it really is that simple. If, however, you still ride to work on a Horse and eat Turnips 3 times a day, don't have elastic trickery and want more stress in your life then you should still buy a PCP but shoot it wearing Pink Heelys.

I love mine apart from the noise it makes on firing-deffo needs a Moderator. 25 good shots and accurate/powerful enough to kill up to 20 yards IMHO. So light that you can shoot it one handed and ,despite the trigger being heavy, its accuracy is impressive. Good to see a return to a steel breach by Crossman-the plastic one were really carp and, no doubt, have cost the maker a lot of repeat sales. Selling mine cos I don't ever use it and it's loud enough to wake the dead-2250xl latest model, still boxed £100 + postage.

Christ on a bike COOK13 - don't suppose you fancy picking 6 numbers from 1-59 for me???
-
IMHO it's going to take a lot more than a few hours to get your lad to feel comfortable shooting left handed but its certainly doable with determination. I lost my right eye 16 years ago and still sometimes throw the gun into my right shoulder if a hurried shot presents itself, but it took about 2 or 3 years before I could shoot as well as I did right handed (badly).

Re reading my above post it appears a tad condescending Mole, please accept my apologies but your unconditional love of all things Turkish sometimes brings out the Devil in me - no offence taken hopefully.
-
I have the latest model for sale if you're interested-2250xl I think-as new and still boxed-very accurate but too noisy for my type of shooting-looking for £100 + postage.

Erm-they do.....it's called, oddly enough, Plastic Meccano.
-
Mmmmm-I think I see what you are getting at-my gun has a barrel and a scope above it-some kind of stock and a trigger hanging underneath-oh, and wait, yes-there' an Air Cylinder below the barrel !!! - pigging Air Arms are copying Hatstand!! (Mind you-looking at the Turkish Delight it also reminds me of something my lad made up once from a squeezy mop and some Meccano)

How can you lose an 8ft Ferret?

Now that's put a huge downer on my day . Stunning looking fella and I cannot imagine how you must be feeling.
