  1. Try this-on your internet homepage i.e. google or whatever-click "tools" followed by "internet options"-look for "advanced"-you should find the option to reset your explorer to default settings.Check your programs and features on the control panel page as well and see if anything is dated the day your trouble started-if so delete it.
  2. They were released at christmas common in bucks over 20 years ago-if you are in the Aylesbury area pop along to haddenham-some days you can see 10-15 in the air over the village.Never heard of one killing anything but small game-strange for such a big bird.
  3. In an ideal world your scope should be perfectly parrallell to the barrel-with your gun the rear mount needs 1 or maybe 2 half round slices of 12 bore cartridge case under the scope tube at the rear mount. :good:Some companies i.e. Beeman make mounts specifically for the weirauch range+make sure your mount has the arrestor pin fitted or you will find your eye and scope becoming good friends.
  4. No worries Lee-pop the gun upright on a table and crouch down till you can look along the main body of the gun from the stock towards the muzzle-get your eye in a position so that you can see along the top edge-then move your head sideways and see if the barrel is in alignment with the action-im guessing its pointing downwards-most weirauchs are-shim the rear mount to compensate or enquire at your local dealer if speciel mounts are available.Dont worry cos its quite normal.
  5. none of the above-the world is your oyster if you've got cash-look around for a second hand Browning (not the medalist) or berretta-it would take you and your sons lifetime to wear one out and a quality gun has a certain something about it.
  6. Set the scope in the middle of its adjustment range by counting the total amount of clicks from max up to max down-divide by 2 to find the centre.Screw the scope back on the gun and fire 2-3 rounds at about 10 yards.Use a piece of cartridge case or similar to pack whichever mount to bring the gun on aim-if you need more than 2 thicknesses of cartridge i'd say something is wrong (unless you've got a weirauch model with a drooping barrel). It is not o.k. to use a scope with most of the adjustment taken up cos you are looking through the edge of the front lens where quality is likely to be somewhat less than in the centre.
  7. Try adding a .22lr barrel+moderater-guaranteed to treble your kills
  8. maybe not much help to you but-MANY years ago while i was at school my shooting buddy and I bought a .410 for £4 with half a box of ancient cartridges and used it on rabbits. We couldnt afford new cartridges for it but my mates dad ran a clay shooting club and every sunday when there was a shoot on we used to "whisk away" a box or two of 12's.Armed with a philips screwdriver and a pair of pliers we would re-load our precious baby shells using loo paper as wadding -they worked a treat and were much quieter than standard shells (we used teaspoons as measures.) Like i say-not much use to you but your thread brought log forgotten memories flooding back-thank you.
  9. I can highly recommend the cz/brno-had mine for years and still looks/shoots like new.The ZKM452 is the one to go for in any guise-use RWS high velocity or ELEY subs and you cant go wrong. dont forget to include everything in your application i.e. moderater + expanding amunition (if still applicable) and plenty of rounds.
  10. Is it the model with very plain wood-folding barrell-double trigger non-ejector?
  11. Exspensive scopes are high priced for a reason-either (in the case of the german scopes) the high quality optics are needed to avoid distortion when shooting out to perhaps 300+metres-you also need top notch clarity to scan for quarry at such ranges. The higher priced airgun type scopes are expensive because of a mixture of better glass and smaller production runs-i would say that £100 should buy you something plenty good enough for a PCP -add maybe £20-330 if you use a springer.
  12. sorry in advance for this but i doubt that you will find many users on this forum that would consider winchester subs to be anywhere near the quality of Eley or RWS subs-my advice is take them back and get the superior Eley.
  13. Must have shot thousands of pigeons over the years with 7 1/2 -not one has ever complained.
  14. my money's on the s200-you can carry them one handed all day-they shoot better than anyone ive ever met and they are easy to up the power (turn of a screw)-superb and often overlooked pcp
  15. OMG -thats a stunning looking gun-i'd sell my granny if she was with us to own that-whoever gets it-you lucky *******
  16. pop back to the nest late in the evening as it gets cooler-fill a plastic drinks bottle with petrol and ,with the spout open, drop the bottle neck down into the hole.Wait a couple of minute then ,after making sure your hands dont stink of petrol-drop a burning firelighter into the mouth of the nest.Revenge is a dish served bloody hot sometimes.
  17. was it a gunsmith that said the trigger can't be altered?-never heard of one that cant.
  18. I rang my doctors surgery once after being stung quite badly by a wasp to ask if i should put some cream on it-"no", he replied "its most likely long gone by now anyway"
  19. get your hands on some multi-strand electric fencing wire like they use on farms and make your own (not the stuff with nylon running thru it).
  20. pick up a cheap used jeep grand cherokee and just insure/tax it for 3-4 months a year.Dirt cheap and pulls like a train-in fact it will pull my 5 berth tourer away from standstill with no throttle-you also dont need any silly anti snake devices or stuff cos the car is so heavy.
  21. Would'nt the funds raised by fundraising and sponsership be better spent on defending our sport rather than investing in real estate?-does the BASC realy need a new building?-just wondering.
  22. Thought the merits of prometheus pellets had been discussed to death? IMHO any claims made by prometheus are as reliable as an M.P.s expenses claim. There are so many time proven pellets out there that are more accurate than we will ever be that i cant see the point in trying new types-what can you gain?
  23. Direct line are good but they "cherry pick" their customers and dont get involved price-wise if you,ve got points for anything naughty.Best bet by far is just pop your details into compare the market or similar. You should change your insurance company every year-the possible savings are huge.
