  2. But I’m looking for a stick welder to finish my home reactor kit to go off grid 😜 thanks for all the advice guys I’m keep an eye out for a mig set up.
  3. I zeroed my photon on my lads ultra se after putting it in a scorpion stock. I had to make a new stock bolt as it needed a shorter bolt. The rail and mounts are a touch high but workable for now it’s putting 20 pellets into a finger nail group at 20 yards so ready to ambush some rats.
  4. Please let me know we maybe able to help each other
  5. I think I’ve found a good deal on an Ultra just have to wait for it a bit.
  6. Thanks guys it not used much for lamping more spotting deer in the garden and finding the dog.

  10. I’m glad I’m not the only one was put a photon on my old BSA super sport, now I’m buy a pcp bsa ultra! ratting is get quite addictive and expensive.
  11. Sounds a good option to me the cost involved are not that high unless the donor is silly money.
  12. I hope you have some luck you may find it cheaper and faster to look for a shot out rifle/action to get a donor bolt from. You are also required to notify your FEO of the loss as bolts are one of the magic parts to a rifle.
  13. I got Romsey Red about £40 a tonne collected.
  14. I may be wrong as not looked at one for awhile but I think the Yildiz has a mechanical not inertia trigger so the recoil is not the issue.
  15. If it’s first gun and he’s a novice his money would be better spent on lessons and having a gun close enough until he’s established a consistent mount so the gun fitter can just work on the gun.
  16. Edd have a look for a Tao Cheetah got my son one small enough for a 6/7 year old to reach and drive big enough for me 6’4” 17 stone to drive. So impressed I use it more and more. Changed the sprockets and chain now Tows a trailer takes me lamping and can extract deer!
  17. I certainly was suggesting they lack skill or intelligence, my father employed over 40 full time welder (in the fitters shop, and on site in the main) so know the skill level of a professional, they imparted some basics back in the 90s on me, but must confess I preferred the machine shop with tool makers, when I wasn’t rebuilding engines or remachining hydraulic rams etc.
  18. Yes what gets me I just paid someone £60 to do something that I’m sure is very simple I don’t object to paying for someone skill, but it’s a long way to getting a welder and learning the skill myself! That machine seems to tick all the boxes mig gas and gasless and arc welder and not to pricey either. Interest to see what the welders say about it.
  19. Join the metal sticking confusion! it all helps and is the point of the forum.
  20. Depending on your night sight a picatinny rail may be your only mounting option.
  21. Been many years since I was in Catterick but must say I did enjoy my visits to Marne back then.
  22. I’ve not shot plastic wads for 20 years and don’t wish to start again now however I’ve tried some modern steel this season that had plastic wads and the kills where poorer and the plastic wads add up to a non starter for me.
  23. Kolpin gun boot is what I think your after.
  24. So your second question. I have several 22 moderators that have been tested over the years from a Wildcat Whisper (expensive) to a Parket Hale and Helstone mods (cheap) of the 15 types is tried I can’t tell any real world difference after 20 yards from the rifle. The moderator on there will do you fine with no issue.
