ok for the ones that think not cleaning your sound moderator does nothing it does carbon build up overtime builds up over the baffles and will start to lessen on how much sound it moderates plus it sticks all the baffles also starts to corrode

if you dont take the mod off the gun they can get stuck on due to carbon build up also the baffles will most likely be stuck and hard to remove as you have not cleaned it

Hi i hope this helps anyone else that have a winchester model 70 mine is dated 1982 1983 in xtr featherweight .243 as most people know most rifles in .243 cal are short action the model 70 is not short action its long action as winchester did not make a short action receiver for these rifles till later if you take the stock off and measure between the further apart screws from centre to centre it will be 7 5/8 ie long action so you will need a 1 piece long action mount
