  1. hi, just been reading the BASC web site about deer stalking, although it lists the restrictions regarding lamping/ season, i cant seem to find any mention of the penalties incurred if say, someone were to shoot a deer at night with a shotgun while out lamping for foxes. Also, how or would any of you go about reporting such an incident were it to come to your attention? Just the facts guys, cheers, gram.
  2. can't he take them back? sounds seriously under powered, i'd be banging on the shops door and asking for a refund. I have some 12g 32g6's and these kill fine, rabbits at 40yds, pigeon aswell. These sound like duds to me.
  3. kick-eze pads are expensive anyway, so it's not extortionate.
  4. I had a saab that used to leak coolant, rad pipes used to split regularly, turned out that over the years some bright spark kept filling the rad with tap water and it corroded the alloy head! had water leaking from the jacket directly into 2 of the cylinders, thus creating enough pressure from the compression of the cylinders into the coolant system and bursting the hoses.
  5. how much was the pad? my gunsmith charges 25 to fit a pad.
  6. not to worry, replace the hose, not too difficult. got a halfords or wilco nearby?
  7. that's roughly £20 cheaper than a bratton sound, [ i got some discount, paid about 240 for mine] give them a ring on monday, see what they say, you might be able to buy direct. Technically, it doesn't matter how cheap it is, if it's no good then it's a waste of money.
  8. I would, but i'm skint. And they speak french.
  9. got an 8 gun bratton sound for that, wont have any problems.
  10. i'll pm you bratton sound's number, ask them what guage steel they use and compare with the cheap one.
  11. How would the cabinet "fail" inspection? can you compare it to, say, a bratton sound cabinet? 3 things to look for, 1, metal thickness 2, quality 7 lever locks or a 5 point locking system 3, welds/ joints I've never seen any cheap chinese cabinets, but maybe my local RFDs have got more sense.
  12. MAGNETRON! That sounds like something out of startrek, "Fire up the magnetron scotty, and set the controls for the heart of the sun!" Cool!
  13. yeah? cant stand that cooperman, be honest he's a bit of a ****. Frank's ok he knows his stuff, but what cooperman doesn't know he'll just make up, don't like that kind of B/S.
  14. That's blood, kidney failure possibly.
  15. maybe the livestock are being fed potatoes?
  16. yep this works, used to do this all the time in the joinery shop, if it's varnished then it usually needs a few pin pricks in the dent so the steam can be absorbed, which puffs up the wood.
  17. any potatoe farmers nearby? waste potatoes used for animal feed get covered in a blue/purple dye, maybe a deer got into a feeding trough close by.
  18. I mostly use rio's, 32g6's/5's. Also have a few more extreme loads, BBs, SGs but rarely use them. I've got a nice little stash of eley vip game 30g6 with photodegradeable plastic wad, not cheap but good.
  19. Depends if they're members of the GTA, most couriers won't touch firearms and TNT will only deal with registered businesses who have an account with them. Non-GTA registered RFDs have to pay nigh on £100 for delivery costs. i've just had a gun sent from york guns, [bought it from a fella on here] paid their fees, then postage, then my nominated rfd fees, still came to £65, the thing is , business is business, i've never dealt with any of these rfds before, so why should they do me any favours?
  20. yep! made a display cabinet for my father and had to use halogens as the light from the led's didn't penetrate the 2nd glass shelf, useless they were!
  21. the date isn't set in stone peeps, suggestions? Just to let everyone know, mid norfolk is open weds- fri only.
  22. I thought a 22/250 was a necked down .250 case. .22[calibre] / 250[casing] i've lined a 22/250 and a 243 casing side by side and they're a different size. back to the plot, this was discussed at length not so long ago, my findings with the 22/250 were that it has a bit too much powder for the calibre, this creates a lot of muzzle flash. The 223 is a much more user friendly round, but as you have a 222, why not go for something even more capable like a 243 or 6.5x55.
  23. The cat peed on mine, still worked but sold it anyway. Well, i didn't fancy using it after that..
  24. i'd have thought he would either compensate or give up, gonad!
  25. how long ago were you convicted? how old are you now? do you consider yourself more responsible now?
