  1. we used to shoot a couple when we had our own little shoot put some ducks;partridges;pheasant on the land and whilst walking up the game; hares bolted and we shot a few but they were plentyfull on the ground then could see as many as 20 on any given day.but we had problems with dogmen and lampers taking them at will and numbers fell dramatically so we never shot another on that particular piece of land;so kind of stuck and don;t shoot them on any land at all now .
  2. i agree they are not eating the beans or the leaf but does it matter if you have pigeons on the crop and a flightline the principles stay the same as it would shooting over any crop;i shot 90 in may on a germinated wheat field the shoots were 4 ins tall so no seed left on it and they was not eating the wheat shoots but chickweed and bits of young rape growing amongst it but the same fieldcraft applied.
  3. i just had a look at how many pigeons shot by members this year and protom has put a post on saying he shot 16 on a bean field before farmer came to spray the field.
  4. not yet the wheat is not far enough on and none layed round me. but good numbers on layed barley but small patches and would drop most in the standing crop.
  5. good day out and cracking hide blends in very well would rather been anywhere meself today than watch that tripe.
  6. cran. gerrard had a good group stage.also 2 german goals went through james legs.that scandalous decision turned it if that was given england wouldn;t have had to chase the game because 2 goals came from on the break while we had everyone forward trying to score;but they didn;t perform in group stage. shape of things to come.need english manager.
  7. because your not there.
  8. 2/2 we need a big screen playback for decisions like that.they have hawkeye in tennis and cricket.and big screen in rugby league for trys. but dont in the biggest tournament on earth
  9. well the french love eating our pigeons
  10. you can often tell the difference between a flock of ferals to a pack of racers.if you arrive at a field and you see ferals they normally get up and fly as a flock wheeling round then settle back on the field.racers just fly over you in a straight line and fast but some racers do go awol and join in with the feral population so it is impossible to pick out which one might be a feral or a racer but if that occurs you are within your rights to shoot them because they have become a pest on the land you are shooting over the only way of not making a mistake is dont shoot at ferals at all and that is a nonsense.
  11. shot same field of clover as last week not as many on it this time and the heat didn;t help the birds were a bit slow in coming in but a nice bit of shooting shot 22 only picked 17. seeing good numbers on layed barley could have had a big bag today on one field birds just piling into the bits of layed patches.but are not big enough to shoot over would lose to many in standing crop and i dont like shooting em just for the sake of it.
  12. nice bag and in 2 hrs;incidently i got 34 in 2hrs last week on clover
  13. either a stealth net or a camoreal net both very good and light.
  14. good stuff post a pic of the bag if you get some
  15. if you fancy something different have a browse at the browning maxus.i bought one recentley and the results surprisped me at how fast you can get 2 or 3 shots off in no time no felt recoil and cycling is second to none no matter what shell u put in . just my opinion
  16. she knows the score good shell the express pigeon specials;shoot em meself but 30g 6s.along with rio 30g 6s as good as each other
  17. good win should have scored 3 or 4. but argentina ; brazil ; and next opponents will have a say in what happens next.
  18. to go off what cranfield said;round my area the winter barley is tall and golden and is prone to going flat on my permissions.and over the years made some good bags on the said fields. i have seen a few going down on small layed patches but no chance of shooting over em at the moment would loose to many in the standing crop.
