  1. I have a load of Air Gunner magazines the amount i have no idea but the pile is just over 1ft high or for the younger people about 30cm. They range from 1985 to 2002 the Pike and Predator mags only 1/2 the amount from about 10years ago. i will not post due to the price i am asking FREE AS LONG AS THEY ARE GONE IN 2 WEEKS pm for details re collection or i will take to the shooting show for the cost of a pint
  2. Well i was sure i had contact with another 1 or 2, but not being 100% i went for a look in the daylight, i have just got back this one was in a tractor rut as i thought, another Dog there was no sign of the other, I will be back Saturday night poss for another look round next time with the other rifle.
  3. Thanks chaps, just sitting here on PC and keep getting a strong wiff of Fox eminating from my trousers, Ii think i will get out and check were i was last night, there were 2 i am sure i hit but lost in the stubble. Then get these trousers off and in the wash they stink
  4. Thats not a bad mornings work, I cant help but notice you hang your rabbits from there ears well it looks like it. Any reason why you dont hock them, (time issues )
  5. After a long wait up for a decent night out i finally managed to get out with my recently re-barelled M55 in a 22.250 flavor, done by Dave of Valkyrie Rifles, and i must say a brilliant job. Anyway i popped out tonight about 18.00 and set my cheapo caller out and got set up ready waiting loaded up with 53grn v-max and 36grn of varget. Not long to wait around 20 minutes roughly, 2 pairs of eyes were spotted at the top of the field that would be 300 + yds, both shining brightly so these were on the way in for sure. They seemed to dissapear for a few seconds but re-appeared shortly after coming down the hill, (possibly went down into a tractor gully as the field are sodden still with all the rain and the snow thaw). I had 2 lamps 1 was gun mounted, the cluson and the 170 i used for spotting, after the verification i use the mounted lamp waited till they got to around 180yds and closing and took the smaller one at around 150 hoping it was the vixen, expecting the dog to hang around. The plan worked less than 2 minutes after there was another down. In the photo the top one was the dog and the middle the vixen, he was a big brute well scarred around his face The 3rd fox was crossing behind me shortly after i think it may have been closer but as the others were shot i think it decided to move out of the way. This was a smaller dog fox about the same size as the vixen. The top one was a front chest shot which had a nasty exit wound to its upper vertabre, the other 2 were front side on chest shots. a brilliant night Very happy with the rifle bullet combo and more than happy with the night
  6. Yes carrots are ok, but if you can get them hooked on lettuce you will get better results. Lettuce contain lactucin which is a nutural sedative so if they eat enough they will become drowsy and shouldnt spook if your lamping them. Good luck, i hope i have been of some help.
  7. have to agree, if you carry on you WILL get some sleep, BUT it may not be a decision of yours when or if you wake up. No company should allow workers to work without adequate sleep its strictly against all sensible HSE rules. If its for yourself then you could end up being off work due to who knows what.
  8. Sorry, but she got caught doing something that she knew could result in a harsh punishment, and without doubt she knew the maximum penalty could be death. She gambled and lost, that is the life of drug trafficking be it a long one or in her case a little shorter than she expected, Maybe. as for her defence lawyer, well what can we say. They will obviously get a fair pay out, either way. IMO as guilty as she is.
  9. sounds like you've been to the one i used to go to.
  10. Stick to a decent lead pellet, you will have far better results as far as clean kills go, theses nylon skirted pellets have been around for years and to my knowledge have never won any Field target comp. They do not deform on impact and will drill through your quarry.
  11. After cleaning i use this method, a couple of patches with meths/acetone it removes all trace of chemicals and quickly evaporates. I have found that after this method its bang on centre as before the cleaning.

    Sausages

The leek and tomato are good but the venison are ok but not as good.needs improving . Too sweet . I used red currant jelly and would have been better using fresh berries. The stuffer is from biltong best price for a vertical. £135.
  16. Just been reading the post in "Pigs to slaughter" and thought i would show you all my sausage Pork & Leek, Venison, Pork red wine (Wolf Blass Merlot) and red currant jelly, with a touch of Garlic Tomato with chopped sun dried tomato's all together around 36lb
  17. Sorry i didnt realise you had yours made into sausage, and some cure'd, incedently how long did it take for the cure Someone asked me if i could do sausage with there's but it would cost them extra for the time and ingrdients, Twitchynik<<< I tell you i could not have faced eating Bloody PIG after that session in Croatia, I would rather eat Quorn Burgers  Ready for this year, i'm taking a load of marmite and brown sauce, Oh! and some packet soups
  18. Just butchered 2 pigs today. They cost £17.50 to slaughter and I think they charge about £10 for cutting and bagging. £ 200 is I think WAY too much. Tomorrow will be sausage day... The one pigy was 220 lb + huge beast nice looking pork..
  19. It's Catton near Walton on Trent just off the A38 between Burton on Trent and Lichfield . Put in a Google search for Carton rifle sport.
  20. If i can get the time off work, (as much notice as poss please) and someone can supply a whole carcuss preferably Deer of some kind i could try and do a little demo on hacking it into manageble pieces for the BBQ, The offer is there folk Apart from that, i hope i can get the time off work,
  21. Why on earth do they decide to scrap something like they did with the 11+ God knows how many years ago, because they thought it was awaste of time. Then decades later some bright spark who was obviously born way after, decides that it may be a good idea to have an exam for pre senior school and call it the "11+" Oh! so clever people
  22. this rescue would have been used as a training exercise and nothing more. It is one job i could not do ever, for any amount of money, some of the shocking scenes some of those people see would turn most of your guts inside out. Swings and roundabouts, come to mind on this job mentioned.
  23. I would still tell them to shove it, even if it meant paying a little extra (£20 ish) and tell them why, they are nothing but thieving *****
  24. £50 for that paint job on the bonnet you got ripped off Nice shooting,
