  1. There,s s fat porker in my local,he moans like hell about the imigrants over here. Being paid peanuts, taking jobs off brits, blaming the influx of these.people for some of he mates for being out of work. Well he is a fine example of your brit worker these days, sits in the pub "every" day on is deri, air claiming for all he can get and drinks it all away. And has the gall to moan about people who want to work for there money. I to have staff from all over the eu, jobs are advertised for ALL not just for brits, but they just cant be assed, or if they do start with us they dont last cus they dont want to actually "earn" there wage,s, and some think swaeting is an illness
  2. There is one thing you can do, go off sick. The company has put you in an uncomfortable possition, not really what I would call "duty of care" tiwards there emplyees. Leaving or not,you are still an employee !!! Have the rest of time off sick, not allot they.can do. Any intimidation from them would not look very good for a claim against the comany.
  3. Do i need to look through some night vision glasses, cus i cant see owt
  4. I have a few books on fungi, and i would love to go and pick, eat cook with the numerous types i see around, but i have one major drawback, I am disabled, hugely to the point i could quite possibly make a fatal mistake, i am colour blind !!! And not being able to tell the difference in colour of some of them is very frustrating

If you do buy off the bay just be carefull your not paying top wack for cheap copies. As for "sally Mitchell" i have a few from there, very good. Keep your eyes open around the shows, if you know the price's before you can get a few bargains, framed too If you buy something of quality they will increase in value, i have quite a few and most have doubled if not more For scenery John Tricket is good but pricey, The thing is if you like it its worth it, you will be spending a long time looking at it PS. just looked at "Angela Davidsons" page, and realised the Mrs has one of hers, i think its called "thunder and lightning" very good you can almost smell the horse :yp:
  8. Shoot it then you could get a poitive id.
  9. I reckon Fox, looks though its either been put in its place or its sneeking up on something, its low, tail out straight so i reckon its after something.
  10. Thanks chaps. Failed last night, decided to call it a night. Just taking bolt and mag out ready for the off, pick uo my cluson hand held for a treck to the calle, take a few paces have aflick round with the lamp and there charlie just 40yds to my right. If only I hadnt have been so impatiant. LOL
  11. The photo of that shop is fantastic, its how butchers should all look this time of the year. But allas no, the do gooders and vegies have put a stop to it through complaints to local councils and precinct managers, saying it looks unsightly, cruel and is off putting. As for the story, well i had better get rid of all the **** real food in the freezer or its gona kill me. Yeah !!! right
  12. Had a quick mooch last night on a bit we hadnt been on for a while, expecting to see some sign of Fox's. I placed the caller about 150yds ish,in front of us as it would give us shots of anything coming in from the sides or from behind us. 15 - 20 minutes and eyes were moving onto it on a mission, no hesitating till the lamp was lifted for a possitive ID. 100+ yds standing + centre head, a nice gentle squeeze on the trigger, job done waited for about another 15-20 minutes but nothing showed so called it a night. The other 3 were from an earlier night out off stubble, its been very lucrative this stubble has, but at times not easy as the farmer has still not fixed his bailer, ( well i think thats the reason) there are still bails out in the field and some not bailed still. The fox's tend to hide just below the rows of straw. Hence the head shots..
  13. +1 never had issues with them i have them on 3 of my rifles. all are solid and are at one with the rifle, and no chance of marking the scope I can only say " work man blaming there tools" People spend £1000 + on a scope and use £20 mounts to mount to the rifle to save a few £ sorry i just cant see the point
  14. Well maybe some of the questions have been asked by people who possibly have a genuine concern for there health and safety, there fingers, hands ect, and by the very sound of it do not confess to be the font of all knowledge, like myself, i do not know every thing !!! and have never confessed to knowing every thing. I do reload and have done for a while now, but still have sense to use caution with regards to something i am unaware of the dangers of, or as i know now no danger of. But now i know a little more I thank you Oh wise one's B)
  15. So correct me if i'm wrong here, A miss fire cartridge is deemed safe to handle. Having noticed the indent in the primer. Following some of the insructions given, to cut the cartridge in half you will need to be able to get a good grip in your left hand, very possibly in a closed fist, while the other hand holds a sharp knife and cuts the cartridge in half to empty the shot, is this correct Just wondering here, are you sure 100% that it wont go off if there is even the slightest chance it may decide to eventually ignite the powder, surley that would or could possibly be the end of your shooting, and being able to wipe your own backside. Just a thought.
  16. Just totted my total for this year that i can remember. 47. So total 478
  17. There are a few on here, including myself that have the 77/17, i did have issues at the start but very possibly down to myself. The advantage with the rugers are the shot capacity, and nearly 100% magazine feed, only dirt in the mag faults it so thats in your hands. I dont regret having that as my choice, yes they are more expensive, but i like it. I did a little work on in like fully float the barrell, replace the trigger with a "rifle basics" and thats about it, find what it like to shoot and be happy with it. Just for info the other one i fancied was the HW60, but years ago they were fitted with open sights so that was a little stumbling block at the time, also a low profile on the stock. Both not major issues, specially now as they have removed the open sights, i think. I also looked at the Savage, but went off that due to having problems removing the mag, not something i needed to struggle with out in the field. There is every likleyhood the one your looking at has had some work on it, just check it shoots well before you hand over any cash, if they want to sell they will allow you to, if not then dont bother as they possibly have something to hide.
  18. rice. pasta, wood chips, really anything but sand. There is nothing worse than getting sand in your rifle action.
  19. Depending on the damage, i bone them out and make Fox burgers with garlic (plenty of) Sorry being silly again. I ask the farmers before hand what they want me to do with the Fox's i shoot, 9 out of 10 ask them to be dumped on the muck heap. Or if not on a muck heap i leave a message were have left them, and i think they bury them, not sure after that.
  20. Not read all the post, but rather than buy tinned food get some dry dog or cat biscuits, throw them around the area it will keep the fox interested for longer. If you eat tinned tuna, or simalar save the oil in the freezer smear that on tree,s posts or whatever you choose. Study the area for the paths, Fox's use regular paths, early morning, see where the dew has been knocked off, late evening the same, frosty morning, nice trails always left by everything thats around. Holes in hedges, Fox's or badger, fox paths generaly narrower than badgers. By studying the area you will soon see were the fox likes to go and were its coming from. Bait up in the path or bring it out into the open.
  21. I do drop more than i show on here but some times just cant be assed, depends if i have a lamper, or i forget my camera.
  22. Got this one wednesday evening spotted going up the hedge line just over 100 yds stopped just long enough for the shot. A bit of a weird one this one, kept going round in circles before i shot it, didnt do much after mind.. Then this one last night over fresh drilled wheat, we managed 20 minutes between down pours, traveling there it piddled it down really heavy, but once on the road there was no turning back really, so got there and the rain seemed to hold off for a while, got set up and my lamper had a quick peep over the first field. We had a bit of a shock as i was told there were plenty of rabbits on it Sunday, all we could see was nice neat rows of drill, not what we expected. Anyway, another quick lamp showed a pair of eyes over 370 yds away, the field is 400 from hedge to hedge so i wouldnt be far off, i got the caller out switched it on and waited a couple of minutes, as usual it was coming in but went right over to the edge of the field and just below a dip, i could hardly see it with the cluson lamp, so opted for the 170 to be connected to the large battery. Loads better. Sat out square to us at 219 yds. Chest shot job done picked it up walked back to the pickup, then the heavens opened. Could not have timed it better. might be out later depends on the rain
  23. HW80's were in there day one of the few springers capable of going up to around 20ft lb, most around 18ftlb and shot pretty well. To shoot one well takes practice to get any benefit from the extra power. If i were you i would get yourself a PCP and go with that for FAC, leave the HW80 as it is,its not really worth the lay out to gain a little extra feet per second. You have a brilliant air rifle there, dont forget if you ever give up your FAC you will most probably loose the HW80 too. In the right hands the 80 can be good out to 50yds + with practice and experience.
  24. I think we need to stipulate its attached to a vehicle that has a valid MOT, i think that should be good enough. Cockeras, if its your sons birthday why not bring him too . how old will he be it was a good week end last time.
  25. I am making a note of all the Pro shooters on here that say they can shoot this and shoot that. And to those folk to prove to those that say it cant be done Then after Father Christmas has been to you all, (as long as you've been good) will arrange a meet in the midlands at a rifle shoot (Catton) and we can see how the Pro's do it. You can even bring your own wing mirror if you want, cant be fairer than that now can we Then when the deed is done we can sit back and say, " I told you so" Then;- Chill out have a BBQ and a few beers, and enjoy the rest of the weekend, i am sure it will be enlightening. Mind you we tried earlier this year and none of the Pro shooters turned up i wonder why
