  1. I have never heard of the actions being glued in aside from the bedding, the AW is the Artic Warfare version that is designed to work down to -40, the PM is the precision Magazine. They now have a shed full of variations, as well as some new caliber's, 300 Win Mag and .338 Lapua. I have shot the 7.62 AW and can say its a very good bit of kit, a bit specialised and bloody heavy. Not much use for rabbits
  2. Mosa I have had a wave (Supplied by work) but I was given one of these as a prezzie http://www.swissknifeshop.co.uk/victorinox...ool_spirit.html It has the extra tools with it and I can say with out doubt is well worth getting, much better than a Wave. Chris
  3. My first Rimmey was a 10/22, it has a modded trigger, but other than that is a standard De Lux with a walnut stock, I use a SAK moderator, and the Ruger mag. Its a nice rifle to use and does its job well, its very good out to eighty yards, I have a cheap Simmons 1.5 X 5-20 on it at the moment, but am hoping to put a better scope on it soon, I did have some pic's of it, but found this girl who has fired my rifle. So I thought I would put her on instead
  4. I would NOT recomend that, you may end up in a very deep pile of poo And you are likley to lose a lot of wonga!!! That Pilkington Kite is used by a number of military and law enforcement bod's, but a lot have moved over to the Simrad system which fixes onto the users scope. About seven grands worth There are some not bad ex soviet block ones about, they are not too bad. My own personal opinion is that a good lamp with variable power is much easier and cheaper. The ex military chaps on this forum will tell you how much of a pain it is to keep scanning through a NV scope, even worse with a bloody heavy varmint barrelled cannon.
  5. I have seen one of these used in central London of all places, it cought 40 corvids on the day I visited. A very effective trap, the chap who was using it said he still has to put out Larsen traps as the Maggies will not drop into it, I will have a go at making one. Bloody good post Poacher
  6. Best bet is to have a peep on the web mate *********** Good luck with your expensive purchase
  7. The Simmons WTC I was recomeneded to get was the 1.5x5 / 20. when I first saw it I thought it would be **** But now I have used it I must say its bloomin good for the money. http://www.airgunsport.com/products.asp?P_ID=110 I have seen them for sixty quid in UK, for a .22RF shooting out to 100m its a very good scope for the money. And its not bad in low light which surprised me, but trust me its pretty good. With regard to your nightmare JC I had a lens fall out inside a Swarvo once, it was repaired free with a lot of appologies, I guess anything can go wrong. I wonder how many Simmons products fail, mind you if they do you wont get a lifetime gaurantee with one. You can pick up a Zeiss 3-9 x40 Conquest in the States for $400 odd, with the current rate thats ?200, I would always recomend to save that bit more and go for real quality glass.
  8. That was truly awful If you have anymore like that can you please keep them to youself
  9. Ok Ok I am sorry they are not a budget scope, but price wise they are not at all expensive for the quality you get, http://www.opticswarehouse.com/acatalog/co...ons_Scopes.html Compared to say http://www.opticswarehouse.com/acatalog/Leupold_Scopes.html Or these http://www.opticswarehouse.com/acatalog/Pe...pic_Sights.html Leeboy I am glad you do not see the need for a Swarvoski, I will take your advice on board an dispense with my worthless bit of kit right away :( YIS Sick
  10. Hi Mate, They are ok for what they are, and that is a budget scope that is not at the bottom of the heap. But then is no where near the top either, I would work out what range your going to shoot, then ask yourself if your going to shoot at night? I shoot out to 150m with my .17HMR and shoot at night with it, so I got a Swarvo (Exy ) it is terrific in low light and is very clear. With My .22LR I shoot out to 100m and seldom use it at night, so I got a Simmons, it does the job and anything better would be a bit of an extravagant waste, why spend more on the scope than you would on the rifle? I do not think you will go wrong with one, All the best
  11. But you will miss all this lovely British RAIN And for what? Sun, wine , scantily clad godessess. Stay here mate
  12. I have bought one, its very good quality and I am well pleased with it. Got to get some skins now to have a go at some quality bangers Glad to see they last, you cant beat Lidle for the odd bargain, I got a table saw from Aldi for ?36 the other day, its great for the money. Chris
  13. The other consideration is the size or should I say area of land that you wish to shoot over, I have a .22RF and a .17HMR I shoot over a large arable farm in Essex. Some of the fields are 1000m long, but there are foot paths, railway lines, the odd house here and there. I have thought about getting a .243 but to be honest I would not be comfortable with such a cannon, I have had the Met Police Firearms cars called out twice due to the noise of the .17. I like the silence of the .22 and on the larger more remote fields I use the .17, one drawback to the .17HMR round is that its not very clever in any strength of wind. Good luck
  14. I know that Jackson Rifles do full bore moderators http://www.reflexsuppressors.co.uk/
  15. I have to admit that I can, I needed a variation to put a .22 bolt action on my FAC. I called Essex and they said I could pop in to Chelmsford and sort it, I was out with my amended ticket within two hours Now that is service,
  16. I had a very sensetive trigger on my BRNO 4, the spring was as light as a biro spring, operating the safety would set it off, I have fitted the intermediate one and its now fine. Great that you have done the trigger, it makes the rifle so much more user friendly.
  17. This link will explain the CZ / BRNO name, http://www.gunsworld.com/cz/cz_history.htm Chris
  18. With luck there should be some photos of the No4, I have a CZ .17HMR American and the finish on this BRNO is much better. But the HMR is still very good for the money, http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/ASi...an/P1010006.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/ASi...an/P1010005.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/ASi...an/P1010004.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/ASi...an/P1010003.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/ASi...an/P1010002.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/ASi...an/P1010001.jpg
  19. I have purchased this rifle from SYSS, and am well chuffed with it. I looked at a lot of articles on the web re the No4 and no one had a bad word to say I had a bit of teething trouble with the trigger spring as it was set to bench rest, very light indeed. Breaking wind would set the ****** off I called Roger at SYSS and he sent me down some new springs ASAP and now its very sweet, I would put up some phot's but the site will not let me A lovely rifle with a bit of character, and so much quiter and more accurate than my 10/22. Bit heavy though
  20. It must not emit white light, in other words no holes. A crack is ok, but the examiner could fail as the component could be said to be in a state of imminent failure thus rendering the vehicle unsafe. Red insulating tape over a good area of the lens is a failure as it does not filter the light in the same way as a lens should. Good luck
  21. Eagleman is right, if you have a screw cut air gun you can possess a moderator for that without an FAC, but do you really want the grief of the law banging you up for hours while they " Investigate " your case. I have three moderators, but only one is shown on my ticket. All my rifles are listed for use with a moderator, I doubt if any RFD will sell you a centre fire moderator without an FAC supporting such a sale, .22RF Parker Hale's and SAK's are ok, but any reflex cans you would need a ticket I would just be patient, All the best
  22. I have gone right off my CZ American,,,,, I went to Roding Armoury at Silver St ,,,,,, 50 rnds of CCI was ?20 I am really fed up with them Jacking up prices in this country, just take a peek on this site and see what they are paying over the pond. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/template...requestid=16185 I am off out with the .22, Ta Ta
  23. Funny that, the missus and I were having a bimble with the Dagggs around Orset Fen about two weeks ago. I heard the familiar rumble of a **** Hook, there was one Chinook and 24, yup twenty four cab's all strung out heading up North, no idea what they were. Looked like Sea Kings, but I have no idea. Last time I saw that meany helo's was in Norway, and yes they were US Marines on the move, I do not think we have ever had 24 Cab's
  24. Hi Dave, glad you enjoyed your stay in Suffolk, we do have quite firm laws regarding friearms over here, but not as bad as other EEC countries. Holland is the bad one, you need a licence to **** over there!! But we can have moderators where a lot of states ban them, funny eh?? Take care mate
