I went to Belle Vue in the days of Soren Sjosten, Cyril Maidment, **** Fisher, Sandor Levai, but nowadays am restricted to Sky. Jason Crump fan in last ten years. Top lad. Mark Loram was always watchable. Martin Dugard provided the most excitement - on or off the track.
  7. No connection to Trulock and Harris?? Might be worth contacting them. http://www.trulockandharris.com/
  8. And who would Dan be??
  9. It was my friend Mike and his wife who were staying at Gatehouse of Fleet, but the prints were within a mile of Murray's Monument Galloway Forest Park.
  10. A friend of mine has just come back from a holiday in Scotland. He came accross these footprints and wondered what had made them. He has had dogs all his life and knows his stuff. He thought these would have to be from a fair sized animal. The cigarette lighter is 3 1/4" - placed for scale purposes. The apparent claw marks were deep and sharply made. I spoke to Mike and his wife, Kath last night. Both were adamant that the animal was (in their estimation from the prints) larger than my Akita pup, which is ten stone. Mike said something which I have not really had experience of - that the animal appeared to be following in it's own footprints - ie the back leg landed in the print from the front leg. My explanation doesn't really do Mike justice, but he demonstrated using his hands. http://s155.photobucket.com/albums/s311/Go...nt=DSCF0460.jpg http://s155.photobucket.com/albums/s311/Go...nt=DSCF0461.jpg http://s155.photobucket.com/albums/s311/Go...nt=DSCF0462.jpg
  11. If a semi is your choice, my advice would be to use what you want. The late and great Jim Stafford shot 200 straight at DTL in a Home International, with a Remington 1100. I had the privelege to shoot against Jim - at Sporting - and on rare occasions - beating him. If an auto was good enough for him, it is certainly good enough for lesser mortals. Shooters are becoming spoiled when they can object to someone using an auto - stuff them.
  12. Leeds United fan - going through very bad times, but a fan of Kevin. I hope you do well next season. Genuine bloke - Kevin, with real love of football.
  13. It should be there tomorrow. There is a delay - sometimes hours, before listings appear. If it isn't there tomorrow - e-mail them.
  14. Eagleye. I have two Akitas - the pup is ten stone, so they need a fair amount of room. I can't see them strolling around the hotel somehow, but thanks anyway.
  15. Jonno - if you want to take dogs and have a secure garden / yard - you have to pay it. It was actually £580.71. I have put the dogs in kennels the once - never again. If I didn't take the dogs, I would not be self catering. I would have a nice time in a hotel, being waited on, swimming pool, bar. I would still have been in St Ives. I love the place. Nice atmosphere and no yobs. The Company have just e-mailed back. They are awaiting contact from the owner. They are checking what they were told at the start of the letting season by the owner, compared to what information is held in the property.
  16. Evil Bay - loads of them.
  17. Mungler - thanks for this. I have the e-mails where I specify that I am taking two dogs, the requirement for a secure area and why I needed these. I have the replies from the letting Company where they say they have a suitable property that meets these requirements. I also have the receipts, the booking form and the extra charge per dog.
  18. Just returned from St Ives, Cornwall. I rented a cottage - £500, for 22-29.3.2008. It was actually in the centre part of St Ives - ideal - but I asked for a secure rear yard with a high wall. I have two large Akitas. Arrived Saturday, yard appeared to be shared with a neighbour. Phoned letting company who said only I had access. I wasn't really happy as I wondered if the neighbours knew this. No reply to knocking on door. Later that night, my wife came accross literature left by the owners, which made it clear that it was shared space. It even asked us to keep the dogs off the left hand side. We had travelled 365 miles or we would have gone home. Rang company on the Monday - they accepted a mistake had been made, but blamed the owners. I asked what they intended to do. They said they would contact the owners and get back to me. They never did get back. Ruined our holiday as we had to accompany the dogs every time they wanted to go into the yard - each day before we went out and in the evenings when we returned. I have written to them asking what they intend to do to put it right. I still have e-mail copies clearly stating the requirement for a secure yard, the reasons why and confirmation that it met the requirement. I have given them ten days to respond. I was thinking of Small Claims Court and / or Trading Standards. Any advice? What would be a reasonable solution?
  19. Headshot - depends what you want. I had a Disco - 30mpg. Then an Isuzu 40mpg. Are you buying new or used?

  21. Wanted - Miroku MK38 Trap stock or Browning 325/425 stock. If none available - would settle for MK38 or 425 trap recoil pad. The standard one is about 1" thick and concave - not flat. Will buy or exchange stock for XT adjustable stock with Gracoil recoil reducer system (Cash adjustment). Top one is library picture. Latter two are actual.
  22. My view has not changed. At best, they are truly awful parents. They seem to relish the limelight too much for my liking. Innocent they may yet turn out to be, but they will always remain the people who put a few drinks before the safety of their children.
  23. I've always found the bead useful to check gun fit. When I'm shooting, I have never seen the bead.
  24. If you send nasty little messages, you can't expect "courtesy". If you are ashamed of any message sent - don't send it.
