  1. Sorry Digger - I am already the high bidder on both.
  2. Sure it's a Miroku? S/S or O/U. Never heard of an O/U with that number.
  3. St Ives Cornwall - going in March. I could easily live there.
  4. People have very short memories. Won promotion for Newcastle and Man City. Keegan was the best manager Newcastle have had in a long time. Runners up to Alex Ferguson - who hasn't been. They played the best football Newcastle has ever seen. I support Leeds, but the Geordies should think themselves lucky that he has returned. The city will be buzzing.
  5. DTL maybe, but Kreighoff Sporting shooters? Only ever saw the late and great Jim Stafford shoot at a high level in the North West using a Krieghoff.
  6. Just got rid of my Frontera 2.2 turbo diesel. Very good on and off road. 38mpg and far better than the Discovery that it replaced. I miss it - cheapest car I have ever had to run.
  7. Kevin Keegan - the only, but only answer to the Toons. Passionate and attacking. I am serious - Keegan, plus Shearer - dream ticket.
  8. Listing for a mate who is useless with computers. Genuine Range Rover Hurricane Alloys 18" x 4 - excellent condition, with Pirelli 255/55/18 tyres in very good condition. Wheels are off a 2003 L32HSE - new shape. They fit 2002 onwards. Will fit others with adapter plates. £250. North West area. Pm if photos required.
  9. Adjustable stocks are £85 in the North West. I have just done one myself. Graco adjuster kit £40 from the Gun Cupboard and a bit of alcohol induced courage in cutting the comb out. It was harder than I thought, but not too hard. I will do another in a couple of months when my nerves have recovered.
  10. Are the Rottweill and Eley £135 each per thousand?
  11. There can only be dark rum. Each to his own, but it just adds a nip to the coffee.
  12. Yorkshire chips done in beef suet - unbeatable. 80 mile round trip for fish and chips - well worth it. I have never travelled through Yorkshire without sampling - even on a Sunday.

    Lucky ole me

Yes people do get conned, otherwise they would not persist.
  14. Sadly, I deal with this type of scam for a living. Whilst many of us laugh, there are always those who fall for it. It may seem stupid and badly put together, but trust me, if it did not work, they would not persist with it. Underestimate them at your peril.
  15. It has all the hallmarks of a scam, not necessarily from this country. Sadly I have to deal with this type of thing for a living. It may be genuine, but I will get my sawdust ready for plaiting, if it is. I have come accross so many variants of what is basically the same idea many times. It always ends in tears.
  16. I have owned a Discovery and fine vehicle it was. Just got rid of a Vauxhall Frontera (Isuzu) 2.2 Turbo Diesel. 38mpg, quicker on road than the Disco, far better handling and drives like a car. They had an awful reputation prior to 1995 and 1998 onwards are the best. I have just bought car number 89 and the Frontera was the most reliable, cheapest to run out of the lot. You can pick up a 1999 TD with decent mileage for around two grand. A lot of car for your money. I used to tow a large box trailer for both my sons' motocross bikes. NIce 4 wheel drive option for getting out of muddy paddocks. I was genuinely sorry to see it go.
  17. Might be worth trying local engineers supplies for a C-spanner. I know the type you mean. I only have the larger versions.

Jim - I had some dealing with them in 1994, when a couple of lads fell out of an office window in Salford and were killed. I have to say that they were professional and a lot more understanding than most people would think. There are all sorts everywhere, some are poor, others are excellent. Just like life.
  19. If guilty ( I accept one has pleaded) I would hang them both, but it is unlikely to happen in my lifetime. I trust they will have a nice time in prison and meet lots of new friends. I then hope they rot in hell. I would throw the book at the mother as well.
  20. I have owned Brownings 325, 425, 525, B1 and B125(FI). I now own an Ultra XT, GTi and a Miroku MK38. I prefer the all to the 525. It seems a step back to me. The pistol grip did not suit me at all. 425 is a very nice gun.
  21. I doubt he got advice to tell lies, which is what the verdict indicates. No brief likes verdicts going against them and this was a foregone conclusion. He did it. Whatever advice anyone is given - they can always ignore it. Personally, I suspect his brief told him to own up. He would probably have salvaged some reputation by being honest. It clearly doesn't come very easily to him.
