    Women at work

Turn it around. Ask her for her solutions and then pick holes in them. If she objects, tell her you just wanted her to know how bad it was when someone is very negative. I don't agree about the view of women at work. Sadly, my job involves sending people to prison and I employ a number of women - proportionately, about one third. They are intelligent, analytical, hardworking and truly hard faced. They are very feminine, but can compete on equal terms with the lads - no problem.
  2. There are a few on Ebay. Depends what you want them to say.
  3. Always a top flight shell, but not seen too many about in recent years. A shame.
  4. Rainford and Webton - when are the on and what are they like? Thanks,
  5. Got a Browning Gti - 32" 3/8 and 3/8, with adjustable stock going spare.
  6. I'll have a word with the eldest. He can afford it, I can't.
  7. Worsley, Kelbrook and A6. A6 is good for practice. Nice people and friendly.
  8. Try Chris Potter Guns in Kent. They normally have a few Beretta stocks and forends - secondhand.
  9. Any details - barrel length, number of chokes, condition of bores, woodwork, play in the action?
  10. Blaser F3. I don't own one - I have Brownings - but I have shot one. Very well balanced a felt a lot lighter than it was. Graham from Gundeals tells me it is because it's better balanced than my Brownings. I don't think it is bias, as he owns Blasers and Brownings. I'm not a Beretta fan, but they are okay. The model you cite is not as good as a Blaser F3.
  11. Just got rid of my Frontera. Cheapest car I have ever run. Nice ride, economical and reliable. Early Fronteras were poor. Better after 1995 and massive improvement 1998 onwards. Knocked spots off my Disco. Drove more like a car and very good off road. Wife always has autos - I'm a fan too.
  12. Jim Nevilles at Alfreton. Top shop, nice people and a lot of good, reasonably priced guns.
  13. Side by side stocks are easier to bend, but both can creep back a little. Get a gun with an adjustable stock. It will solve your cast and comb height problems all in one go.
  14. The Archbishop is an idiot. He has a position of influence, but has abused it. Just who asked him to chip in with his views? Did he feel it was something so important that he had to tell the world or did he just want a bit of publicity? His judgement is zero. If he foresaw the backlash he is arrogant. If he did not, he is naive. Either way - a complete and utter plonker.

    The New Shed

Digger - you beat me to it. Slightly different method, but same principle.
  16. Andy W on Gundeals says that forends are £45. He knows who has a number of them.
  17. Bought in error. This is a trap stock for Miroku 3800. It also fits my MK38. However it is the long tang trigger type with the extended trigger guard inlet into the grip. Very nice condition with no scratches or cracks. Includes recoil pad. £85 posted (To UK mainland)
  18. I would try different shells. I had the same experience on Sunday and so did my son. He was using a Browning GTi and I was using a Browning Ultra XT. Both if us were using Eley Blues from the same batch. Didn't fire immediately, but just as we were thinking of pulling the gun down from our shoulder they went off. If a shell doesn't fire immediately, I assume it could still go off and point it somewhere safe.
  19. It's the short barrels which I believe will affect it's value. 27" is very unusual. I would wager that the one at £275 doesn't have abnormally short barrels.

    100 caps.

I personally think he was very lucky to win 99. I don't think he is top flight, but having got so close to a landmark number, it seems churlish to not let him finish his career on 100 caps.
  21. The man was a murderer, black, white, green - does it matter. Why drag race into it? He killed someone - others killed him. It is a sign of the times that there is a complaint about the number of bullets used. Would they have been happy with three or four, so long as he was dead. Another idiot asks why he wasn't taken alive - you have to laugh. He had killed a dog, a Deputy Sheriff and could have killed more. To top it all - the family already have an attorney. Perhaps their thoughts should be with the Deputy's friends and family. He was just doing his job.
  22. Without photos - hard to say. At 27" barrels, it will not be a trap gun and probably not a sporter. More than likely a game gun. £150 if it was absolutely mint. Barrels are very short - most are 28" plus. You might have problems re-selling.
  23. Henry - the Royal Mail is divided into the honest lot - who joined to do a job, for not much pay. The remainder are career criminals who joined merely to steal - credit cards, parcels, birthday cards (Always a favourite), cheque books etc. When there is a postal strike - who turns in for work? No prizes for a correct guess. If there was a serious theft - I don't mean the everyday mass thieving - could the Royal Mail tell you who had been working for them? If they can, I will plait sawdust.
  24. Isuzu are the pick of the crew cabs by a distance.
