How many pigeons are shot by PW members 2006
.223 replied to Whitebridges's topic in Talk From The Field
hi not posted for a while but have been about looking in quite a bit. first time out on pigeons this year decoying not really had time now i have took on a beat on my bosses shoot (other vermin been more important and getting everything else ready for the birds) and still doing the building 6 days a week. but the field looked to good to miss so i asked my dad along (been neglecting him lately) between us we had 431 and a crow and magpie. this was rape stuble. -
we realseased 8 on our shoot last year 2 were shot and they were real good high birds
-
when ever i store blood for training i add salt to it as soon as i get it as this will also stop the blood congealing
-
i use express 32grm 5's for everything works a treat knocks down those long rangers with ease.
-
sounds like i need a new dealer only 15p for me but 65p a rabbit were ever shot
-
it does work for a couple of days till they get used to it, but i usually do this trick on drillings but i tear them up and scatter them about the fields a whole bird tends to bring them in rather than discourage them if you do do this make sure there are no roads footpaths near by as it will offend some people and is bad press for shooters
-

heres the reply off basc. Thank you for your email. There are no laws specifically banning the carriage of weapons on motorcycles. Obviously you will stick out like a saw thumb if you have a full length gun slip on your back and depending upon where you travel through, may pose a target to an opportunistic thief. I don't wish to alarm you, but it is a consideration, especially if you live in a town or city. The other factor is safety. If you did have an accident for whatever reason, the gun across our back may cause greater injury to you if for example you fell off. You may wish to break the gun into two parts and carry it in a small rucksack or sports bag. You will achieve a less obvious shape. In respect to sound moderators, you may wish to call Colin Shedden in our Scottish office, on 01350-723226, who will be able to brief you on Scottish law. Im afraid its not an area we have great expertise in down here in England.

1st Qusetion, Is it against the law to carry a gun in a case on your back on your moped? i beleved it was alright but was informed at college today that it was not, this was not by a shooter but some one who is really in to bikes. 2nd Question, what is the law on having a moderator on your rifle in scotland? last weekend i was in scotland with my friend trying to get him his first deer,on the way back to the cabin we bumped in to the gamekeeper of the neighbouring esate and he went mad when he saw one on my friends .243. he said it was against the law to have a one on any rifle bigger than a .22lr up there. any help would be great .223
