  1. Very foggy indeed, so foggy it obscured any picture FYI picture doesn't show
  2. To go back to the OP's original question. Avoid the Remington Express like the plague, nothing but firewood and scrap
  3. One word of advice that comes from a guy at my air gun club who owns a huntsman and a hw100. When loading the hw100 mags make sure the pellets are recessed in the mag and not flush with the holes in the mag. He had some issues with his until he tried this and now hes fine. Sounds silly i know

    FAC airgun

@Zetter re the hw100, have a look at the youtube channel Tedsholdover as he did a review on the hw100 and some scopecam footage in slow mo. It seems that at high fps the pellet looses stability from the hw100 even with heavy pellets and he caught video of the pellets corkscrewing in mid air time after time, with a variety of pellets and this is what causes the innaccuracy. His conclusion was that the fps was too high and caused the stability issues

Except they are 2-3 times his budget....
  7. This is such a lazy and poor way to try and service a good air rifle, all you will do is introduce oil into a compressoon chamber which you shouldnt do, make it diesel everytime it fires and it will smoke like a clapped out tranny van. Doyourself a lot of hassle OP and just take it apart and properly service it.
  8. They are a bitter/astringent fruit anyway, they should be ready if they are a dark full bluey/black all over. If you squash one so the juice bleeds and leave it on the side for half hour you should notice the reddish juice even though they are green inside. To be honest now is a good picking time as they fruited eary this year.

For 100-120 you can get a hatsan 55 or 65 which has a better trigger than the 900x
  10. Thanks to the chairman at my Air rifle club who pointed me in the direction of some good bushes i now have 12lb of Sloes so enough for 12L+, only took about 3 hours to pick them but got plenty of dodgy looks from passers by! Found loads of little bushes like this one as well as a few well established ones.
  11. No compression so most likely a knackered piston seal as others have said.
  12. Seems lincs isnt as bad as a lot of places. All going well i'm planning on putting in for my FAC towards the end of the year and im dreading how long it will takes Notts constabulary

  16. Found loads of little bushes like this one as well as a few well established ones. Also it would seem the area was visited by Shaun of the Dead...... So much vinyl lodged in the bushes! No Batman soundtrack or Dire Straits though!
  17. Best story ever! Logistics wise how did one wipe or does the story get darker like your underwear

Not sure why anyone would buy an SMK air rifle when you can get a Hatsan 55 S or 60 S for £110-£125 and have something that doesn't need fiddling, is a reasonably decent quality and is suitable for the job. Avoid the Remmington Express like the plague too
  22. If anyone wants an all purpose hardy and heavy fruiting chili i recommend Aji Limons, Slight citrus flavor , about 5 times as hot as a Jalapeno and very similar in heat levels to Cayenne/ Tobasco
