Very true. In fact even the moisture off hands will turn it a bit messy after a while unless a lacquer is applied.

I'd say the brass would look more attractive with a primer in it (Spent of course). Unless you're planning on fillng the hole somehow.

What size of brass is it?

.22 Hornet is the minimum legal calibre for fox in my Force's book. I know some allow .17hmr and such though. I shot a couple of bunnies with a Hornet and it makes a bit of a mess. Lot's of tissue damage, and a good range on it. ANd you're right, it does look a funny little cartridge. Very capable though.
