  1. Noooooooo! You can't keep the Internet waiting. We need to know. (Actually, take some time off. I'm rebuilding a 12j at the moment and it's possible I might beat you to completion)
  2. Used him when it was down in Newbury. Had the full kleentect coating. Very unpleasant experience took way longer than quoted. Whatever stuff they used to clean it aged the plastics so much (new vehicle) I ended up replacing them. Masses of overspray that took ages to remove. And he was very shouty. In balance, I would state that there appeared to be wax in the cavities and the coating didn't fall off before I sold it. At which point the coating made no difference to the price I got, despite claims of coated vehicles going for more money. I'd go somewhere else. The op's one seems very reasonable given how much work it is.
  3. What do you use instead of a gasket for the sump? And acetone possible to get in bulk?
  4. L seal failures usually leak across the top of the sump gasket, rear crank seals leak into the flywheel housing and flywheel housing to block leak down the front of the housing. I agree that it's below the static oil level but when the engine is running, oil splashes all over the place . Indeed the landrover manual recommends using thread sealant on the housing bolts because there is so much chucked about. That joint is the most common leak point I've seen. Even landrover had 3 goes at it (4 if you count the early 10j)
  5. What seal is used for the flywheel housing? If it's the old style gallon of sealant, I have started using the 200 tdi gasket (err1440) that comes with ready bonded sealant and is much cleaner to use (and seems to work better) Never tried it with the o ring type housing but see no reason why it wouldn't work.
  6. Thought it was totally unrealistic rubbish. What insurance company would offer the required public liability cover after the events of the first film? Prometheus was good, though.
  7. Bear in mind that notch is actually the ep (exhaust peak) of cylinder 1. If you time the engine to tdc, it will lock up. The Haynes manual uses the wrong terminology but as long as you use that notch to time it, that's ok. This doesnt matter unless you have the engine apart, decide the fly wheel is wrong, use a dial gauge and degree wheel to scribe the flywheel then try to time it and find the engine locks up. Like, erm, my friend did.
  8. £120 half pig cut from the local butcher here. Depends how much you want to save on doing your own cutting.
  9. Don't think cordless will do that size. Hayter harrier is still good, Viking or husky lc153.
  10. Not legal but they're a safe helmet. As long as you're not a black visor, postage stamp number plate and no silencer merchant, you would be unlucky to get a pull just for the helmet.
  11. Normally I use the broom handle across the back of the neck . I hate doing the old hens because after a few years you do get attached to them. One thing I have noticed (won't help the op) is that old hen don't slip away easily like the young meat birds they kick and flap like mad, few legged it off into the darkness because I couldn't hang onto them. Someone recently told me there's game bird dispatcher that spikes the brain so they're quieter. Might try finding one. Did know someone who killed their flock (accidentally) by putting antifreeze in the water (idiot). Not sure how humane that is though.
  12. A 75% American and 25% British group sort out an aggressor on French soil. What does that remind me of?
  13. Can't really complain - I give them money and they give me things. Never found them to be very euthusiastic unlike rifleman firearms which is just up the road. So I now go there instead.

    Royals

Good idea. Man hiding in boot of car with powerful optics aiming at member of royal family. So shoot him a bit and if he survives, lock him up with the nonces and put him on the perverts register. Sorted.
  15. Don't know how old the girls were (anybody got any pictures?) but I thought taking photos of children was a no-no, so where's the counter charge against 4 blokes peeping?
  16. Don't really care who is right or wrong but am concerned about what is right or wrong. Are we saying that the GL does not apply if you do not own the crops or only if the crops are actually vulnerable to attack. More specifically, I have permission to shoot on a local farmers land. Can I do this under the GL?
  17. Daktari, init. Bloody kids - no knowledge of classic television.
  18. Big poof! Nobody needs more than a tin bath of cold water and rough flannel. Cancel the engineer immediately.

    Hogweed

Does the sap burn immediately or only after exposure to sunlight? It seems to look similar to cow parsley so I'm never sure if I've seen it or not.
  20. Slightly worried about this. You must have had a movement order to get them onto your holding? Assuming you have a holding and herd number goto www.eaml2.org.uk/ If you do not then keep very quiet otherwise it could cost you thousands (seriously) Edit: assuming it's all above board, I can only echo the above. Get kill only at the abattoir - it's seems an incredible bargain for the work and you a butcher it yourself as long as you're not selling it. Getting kill and cut makes the per kg cost a lot higher. We do a couple of wearers per year.
  21. Had mine in January. No visit and they didn't contact the referee. I even mailed then to ask if anything was happening and got a slightly whingey reply about how busy they were and how couldn't inform applicants of progress. Then the certificate turned up with about a week to go.
  22. I had lasek rather then LASIK after seeing someone's corneal flap lift in a martial arts class. LASIK isn't recommended for any contact sports.
  23. The local veg producer says yes, you can shoot pigeons attacking the peas. But you can't fire into the air over the pea crop. Which is a bit limiting.
