    Lest We Forget

I've read countless books covering the subject. The men came from every walk of life from across every class and were walking into hell. I have nothing but respect for each one, from the Lords to the labourers. I've often sat at tea break with guys the same age and wondered "Could we do it".
  2. Does any one have statistics that show the amount of attacks stopped in the USA by civilians who carry ?

    London attack

Deuteronomy 13 and 17 advocate either stoning or use of the sword.

    London attack

How many I wonder have friends that are Muslim? Or are just making assumptions based on the Daily Mail ?

If they are on the watch list - inter them or deport if applicable. How many times do we hear "x was on the watch list, x was known to the security forces" As an aside Poland refused the immigration rules forced upon them. Resulting in zero attacks.
  6. A sentence requires full stops and commas. What is a nuk? Grammar police fail.
  7. Why is it pathetic? Terror threat down graded due to arrests made. Would you prefer no vigil and people to act as if nothing had happened ? Why would armed police be posted "to cheer people up" ? How very odd
  8. Henry clearly believes in his God. Others clearly believe in nothing. Each to their own, not really a reason to tear chunks out of each other. As the OP states we are regarded as a Christian country and were attacked by a maggot who disliked all we stand for. God fearing, agnostic, athestist or devil worshipper made no odds to it
  9. It's rare for a suicide attacker to make his own explosive device. As before - find the bomb maker and terminate.
  10. Sad news. Had the privilege of meeting him once, utter gentleman.
  11. If it's true that ears never stop growing that Welsh woman best buy some mud flaps for her lobes
  12. So Mel is, in your words, unreasonable stupid and attacking capitalism? Wow. No wonder you are on a warning.
  13. I'd pay. My doctor has been great, knows I work and live alone so ensures my appointment is at 8.30 am at the latest. Calls me with results of tests rather than get me back in. He makes allowances for my deep mistrust of people, my reluctance to talk and has got me from utter despair to being pain free for the first time in months.
  14. So many variables. I've been to quote jobs where the client wants sows purse for pigs ear prices. No outlay for them but an hour of my day and diesel costs to be told "ooh, I only budgeted 89p for the kitchen" or " I had me a quote for £2.26 Can you match it ? " No. The day is long over due quotes are charged for as in Europe to remove cowboy customers ( not accusing previous posters of being these before the mud slinging starts )

    Rant

A few quid and you can beef up your security no end. Not just lights and cctv but the likes of locks, glass, London bars etc. I've forced entry to lots of properties in the course of my job. Make it noisy to get in and they will go else where
  16. What appliances do you have ? Check the waste trap on the sink, unclip the plinths to the base units and have a gander
  17. Many thanks for the responses and messages. Truly pigeon watch at its finest. I've had a week of scans, tests and pill popping to try and cure my ills. Plus a motoring related court appearance in the mix. I will reply when I've a clearer head. Humbled
  18. Thanks for all the positive responses. My mum was killed in an accident when I was 11. Didn't go to the funeral and packed off to boarding school within three weeks. I have a "brother" and "father" I have zero contact with. I live alone ( except when my daughter's stay ) and work alone so can go 48 hours without talking to a soul. I'm sure there are thousands who would trade my woes for theirs but after spending Easter Sunday in bed, unable to move and with tears streaming down my face it's time to act. I have a black dog, he's 11 years younger than me and it's time he moved on. ( for those who think I'm rambling Google black dog called...). I'm honoured by your words gentlemen 👍
  19. Does rope stop things being ruined ? Specsavers and irony
  20. Thank you gents. I'll book it Monday.
  21. As the topic says, has anyone had this or tried it ? Yes, partially spurred on by HRH but also people telling me for years I need it. This isn't a woe is me post by realisation is slowly dawning that I live a very jaded life and have an opportunity to rid myself of some demons.

    Big Cat

I spent many hours on Hankley common picking up spent shells and clips, smoke grenades and the like. Nearly got away with an SA80 once. Never saw a big cat but my eyes were firmly on the ground.
  23. Estate agents still do it. Developer I work for gets all his refurbs that way. Got a portfolio of over 60 properties so he knows who to talk to.
