  1. Right from the start I said that there would be millions made out of the total cock up of the covid panic. Human nature I'm afraid. Still happening even in my own Dr's surgery where you have to wear a mask and daub your hands in expensive stuff before entering. I see the oldest living Dam Buster in the news this morning, he didn't have to daub his hands in stuff and wear a medical mask before climbing aboard his Lancaster. I can't complain about the lady making so much money....legally I believe... to be decided BUT she was allowed to. How many others did the same and also filled the coffers of the Chinese as said by Mice.
  2. Nice one We had a couple of the pieces of pheasant breat meatsl left over so I had them last night for supper. I had made some medlar jam and it tasted like very good apple sauce so I tried a spoonfull...big spoonfull of it with the pheasant....awesome. I think it would go very well with roast pork.
  3. Nice one Buy Game Cookery by Nichola Cox it is in there along with some awesome ideas.
  4. I normally would not take gravy with my meal billy BUT my pheasant done in orange and cider produces a thick sauce and that is not to be missed.
  5. Yesterday and today our bird feeders have been hit hard with even the woodpecker coming in for a feed. They know/feel the weather changing I am sure.
  6. I took the first one to the Continent. That was hand built at the factory and was the one Roger Craythorne won the first Welsh Rally in. That one was most certainly over 135hp and built like a Swiss Watch.
  7. Yep, had friends in for lunch yesterday so lit both log burners and only put the central heating on for an hour first thing. The old house was still warm at 10pm when I retired to my pillow. Even if like me you get offered lots of logs for free there is still the cost of chainsaw fuel and transport but no where near the cost of a tank of fuel oil. We had Pheasant breasts in Orange and Cider sauce yesterday, awesome with five choices of sweets to follow. I purchased a little tool which slices thin layers of the whole length of a cucumber and then I mix up something and roll it in the cucmber. Yesterday the starter was chopped smoked salmon and cream cheese wrapped in these strips of cucumber on a bed of lettuce. There was non left to photograph.
  8. Not in a tree hole but I have shot quite a few peeping out from under the lid of my flip top feeders. They don't half make a mess bouncing about inside. Not much happening here at the moment nothing moving in our little wood and my 'new' transport is still in the garage being 'repaired' which means I can't get off road in the golf course or the farm or the estate. Frustrating. We seem to have thinned the village tree rats as my neighbour on the otherside of the village is not seeing any either. I just discovered that a lady up the road is also trapping them quietly
  9. No, you just can't ask if they come from Africa
  10. Just read the 3/4 page obit in the Telegraph and yes she was a very talented lady, led an interesting life.
  11. O asked because the engine in my Duster goes well for a 1.5. OK it doesn't respond like my Jag 2.5 V6 or my old Landie 3.9 used to but I would not expect it to. Pleased with the finish of the Duster both inside and out for the money.
  12. I had a friend a teacher tell me one day that they would be leaving the profession because they could not teach 90% of a class bcause of behaviour problems and impossible to teach the others because of the disturbance caused by the 90%. She had kids coming into class after break with pinhole eyes obviously high on drugs. What chance do they have. You can't blame the kids it is down to the parents. Pay an allowance for the first born and after that nothing for any others as you must be wealthy enough to sipport additional mouths to feed.
  13. What make of engine is in them because the diesel I have in my Duster pulls like a train...that is when the computerised garbage lets it....... but thats another story. Is that model made within the Renault organisation.?
  14. That looks a quality stove, would expect you to struggle to find anyone wanting to get rid of one but best of luck. Swedish ????????????
  15. Yes all of my cabins, IBCs have seats in permanent old office chairs, old garden plastic jobs. Have not had one vanish yet. The three leg folder is a lot easier to carry than the big plastic job but as said it does restrict your swing a bit BUT always try and take 'em infront. I killed eight birds clean as a whistle recently sitting on my tripod and an American lady ....I asked her where she came from....was that racist??? I wonder...... she said do you always shoot sitting down and my reply was "No, but the old sciatica nerve was having a word" angry like....sciatica that is.
  16. Yes, the only news channel worth watching/kistening to GB NEWS has done just that with Farage giving it air time infront of an audience which included a black guy who agreed with his assessment.
  17. Yep, two or three pages on the subject already.
  18. I know one or two chaps who are at the bottom of the income staus but never complain and get out every day a do a job. I also know of a couple of youngsters who have done a useless degree and when offered a job recently, replied "Oh, I couldn't do that". I certainly do not sit on a fence. The old saying goes, you makes your bed and lies on it.
  19. Caught out Gordon I'm afraid. Ones sufficient for me seeing that the incident was also singular.
  20. Back in the 50s my grandfather had shot the ground so often years before that he knew every litle escape route and always had a gun or two slid in there. Drawing pegs didn't exist back then, guns where guests and stood where they where put. Two coveys out of a drive was about average and guns had to be wide awake. I see there are some entertaining videos from Turkey on youtube shooting greys over pointers and they performed in exactly the same way. Jumped from nowhere and dissappeared over the nearest bit of cover or hill, needing fast shooting by the walking guns.
  21. Yup. Describe poor for me. Does that include the tatooed wobblies down our high street calling in the Post Office to collect their dues? I see reference to 'homeless' do all of these folk not have family or are they 'professional' homeless?
  22. You have time to eat on a beating day. Terrible, that keeper should have you all out there blanking in. Times change don't they.
  23. Well I have read all about it this morning and come to my own conclusions. The event apparently was related to Africa and this woman of distant African decent gets to talking with Lady So and So who naturally asks which part of Africa you come from and instead of laughing and explaining that she was born and bred here but her grand great grandparents originated in Africa so she felt a need to support the cause, she and others jumped on the band wagon and played the race card when there was non what so ever. Of course then the left wing media got hold of it, the rest is history well forgotten.
