  1. Looks like a very thorough enquiry to me and it does not appear to pull any punches. Blair was obviously sucking up to Bush, made him all sorts of promises ...wonder how much he was paid ?
  2. Two well grown cubs tonight on some silage grass cut today. 293
  3. Got up to speed today Three magpies with the 17 Rem 18grainers. that little bullet is awesome on corvids 1952
  4. A number of reasons I decided to vote out. 1) The main one, was I could see the underlying devious plan of a few 'criminals'(my view)fraud is a crime, who had one desire and that was to form a Communist State of Europe where the ordinary guy on the street mattered for nought and just a few of the Valiant Leaders could earn vast amounts of money ... a posh North Korea. 2) I objected to numerous failed politicians moving into non elected jobs at double the salary plus huge pensions, telling us what to do. eg Kinnock, Rumpty Tumpty, Junker, Mandelson et al 3) Vast amounts of our money being wasted on schemes where that money spent here in the UK could have done so much more. 4) A company which had not balanced and audited it's books for two years never mind over twenty would be out of business. The fraud within the EU is mind boggling. Taking the standard travel money and then using a cheaper travel arrangement is very much the tip of the iceberg 5) Within twelve months my right to have a gun/rifle and go hunting would without doubt be infringed with the new directives aimed at gun control due to go through the Commision.
  5. Always thought that clipping our ex layers was wrong as better they could get up out of the way should trouble brew. The Old English Black necks seemed the best stayers for us and you had a good bird for the oven as well.
  6. research it .... google keeny meeny you will get my drift:-) but "your a poet and don't know it" :-)
  7. Have to tried Colin at CS Gears 07733466478 near Balsall Common/Kenilworth. Built boxes, gear and transfer for my 90 and always been very helpful Nice mower, good reputation.
  8. Uggghhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just realised how old I am and how many years have passed by since I shot Yellow Jackets. I cannot remember what model 22 I had at the time but I also found them not super accurate and to be honest I discovered the 17 Remington about then, which handled those 150yrd bunnies much better, so the 22RF became a slinky keeny meeny silent close quarter combat tool and I went to Winchester Subs.
  9. Always very sad when anyone leaves this world at such a young age and with much to give, but have to be truthful, her lifestyle did not help. Heavy smoker and drinker. Lung cancer got her in the end. What a shame, what a waste.
  10. Pleased I sealed mine 50 yrs ago. Set in stone. I know of some who thought they were getting a better deal but lost a lot of money, so take care of your future chaps. Invest in it wisely, as hopefully it has to last a long time for y'allll.
  11. 8 last evening with the 17 Remington/18gr HP at 4000fps not a lot left to eat :-) 1895
  12. Yep, apologies, not up to speed on this yet. Another magpie tonight so that's 28 to add 1927
  13. I can't be absolutely certain but pretty sure I have had 7 magpies, 9 Jackdaws, 7 jays, 2 carrion crows this year in my wood, mainly with the 22RF or the Mossy 410. I have also had to whack a couple of rooks raiding my bird feeders by the kitchen window. They don't normally get any attention on my ground but I do turn out when asked and sort a few out on new drillings and laid corn. Still have a couple of magpies hanging around and introduced a jackdaw to a 18 grainer out of my 17 Rem this afternoon.
  14. My wife saw #135 this morning. It's days are numbered. We don't do unrestricted immigration on my 10 acres
  15. I have some old Magtech subs and they are also nice and quiet until suddenly you get one, about one in 50, which goes off like a full bore. Never had extraction or any signs of over pressure from them but it does wake you up and everything else for a couple of miles around :-) Have a good stock of Winchesters so don't tend to use them these days.
  16. Noticed the markets and the £ going back up again steadily this morning :-) In fact if I went to change some euros today I would get a better deal than I did two years ago. I say again...WE NEED A LIKE BUTTON ... I would have to type for thirty minutes to cover what has been said :-)
  17. WE REALLY DO NEED A BIG LIKE BUTTON ON THIS FORUM
  18. Yep well that's my FLAT RATE support for the future. They're OUT OF BUSINESS as far as I am concerned.
  19. JRM is certainly a possibility but one name slowly coming to the surface and during the Brexit campaign always offered very thoughtful and concise answers/views, was Dr Liam Fox. In all the interviews I saw he never ever got flustered and in my view always won the argument. He was for leaving the EU and I believe is his own man, not in anyones pocket. May, I wouldn't trust. I think poor old Boris is soiled and it would be a difficult job for him to take on, although I believe he should be in any group making the rules for parting company. Certainly no Norwegian/Swiss style. We voted to LEAVE, we do not want any ties at all, no agreements on immigration etc etc., We will make the rules as a free sovereign nation If the EU countries wish to trade with us, they can, as Nigel said in the Parliament today, act like grown ups and talk sense and everyone can benefit and I am certain the trades and companies across Europe will do just that as they have a great deal to lose. Our big problem is finding someone with the backbone to fight our corner.
  20. No decision made as yet. All on the table as they say. Appreciate your comments and suggestions.
  21. Damn, I am always second fiddle. Shot one of those in competition back in the 70s until they got banned because of the side ways blast. Would have been in with a bid.
  22. Just ordered two packets of small saw blades for my scroll saw from Machine Mart on checking the price on delivery I found a postage cost of £4..99p . Now, the blades fit neatly into a standard size envelope and having called in at my local post office I asked the clerk to weight them and suggest what it would cost to mail them anywhere within the UK. He said they would not quite go through the standard slot and would be classed as large envelope at 96p. Hmmmmmmm ? ?? Now, in the plastic delivery envelope with the blades was a thick catalogue which I had not ordered or required. The rating on the delivery slip put the weight as 1kg and I realised that Machine Mart were actually charging me to send their catalogue, even though I didn't order or ask for one. Rip Off, Scam, call it what you like, but they just lost a future customer. Just a heads up, hopefully to save you getting ripped the same way.
  23. Just to clear the ground prior to re seeding then glyphosate is by far the best choice. Spray early on a nice warm sunny day using a fairly fine setting on your sprayer so you get a good soak. The recommended mixture on the bottle will kill everything green in about two weeks. I would not suggest doing anything to the ground, seeding/planting during that time although it is said glypho becomes neutral once it hits the ground. It will struggle with bindweed and may need two or three hits ...SBK is better for that and brambles and shrubby growth. In fact just about to do the same thing and reduce my vegetable garden in size and have sprayed off the weeds prior to seeding with grass in a couple of weeks time. If you can have a word with a friendly farmer and get a small amount to do the job. The Roundup you buy from Plant Centres is a rip off, crazy price.
  24. Is your position elevated ? If not is there a handy tree/wall/pole where you could set a high seat. I shoot a lot of foxes from high seats and just note their regular routes and set the seat in good clear view and let them come to me. This idea and the solar lights, which are pretty cheap to buy; you don't need posh ones will give you around the same amount of light in a killing area as a good full moon. Assume your using a rifle subed 22RF ?? Shotgun ?? Being elevated also tends to let your scent flow above their heads. I have had foxes sit at the bottom of my seat and look up at me. Had one this week walked in downwind of me. Stopped and sat down about 80yrds away, then kept tipping it's head back and forth trying to lock onto me up the tree. It managed about four tips :-)
  25. Nice tidy motor is the V8 version of the Jaguar X type 4x4 Estate. I was seriously looking one over when a V6 model, identical to the one used by Clarkson on Top Gear (only car I know he never slagged off) turned up with just 54 thou on the clock and full one owner service history. Most it did in one year was 6000 mls and could not turn it down. These were built when Ford owned Jag. My X type is a joy to drive but I would think the V8 would be an interesting experience. Having said that I always start to drool when I see a Cobra, even if it is a copy cat model. My Landie has a 4litre V8/LT85 box set up and I just have to IMAGINE :-)
