  1. Thank you, it's took near on 20 mins to speed read and unless I'm mistaken not much has changed?
  2. Any ideas of age, I was given 12 to try by a gentleman on here and passed 6 on to my son. Wondering if I should hang onto the empties.
  3. Very tempted, but I'm always worried someone would steal it from my perm as we suffer lots of trespassing by trail bikes.
  4. Not only do I remember spangles from the rat packs im old enough to remember having them as a kid. I also used to love the amazing raisins bar and aztecs in the rat packs even when the chocolate was so old it had turned white. With the current vegan, and other boil in the bag mush, I just can't see anyone reminiscing about those. Compo sausage, cheese possessed, oatmeal blocks, tinned burgers, biscuits brown, biscuits AB. Condensed milk in tubes versus mush in a silver foil sachet.🤣
  5. We have OSR of between 6" and a foot, no pigeon. So many acorns and berry's. So much spilt grain. So many new shoots on other fields. So much muck spreading. Pigeon and Crow just sit in the trees.
  6. Alas not mine, saw this elsewhere.
  7. 2. Yes of course, any Land Rover product and just about anything with an optional low range gear box. It's not if it can be "beaten" but if it's suitable for your use. Only you know that. The Rav 4 was I think the very first cross over from proper 4x4 to car, Range Rover excepted. As such as a 4 wheel drive car, they take some "beating" in normal use. If you're not doing anything too extreme, as a cross over family car come shooting bus it should be fine.
  8. It's about the time of year when people dump trampolines. My neighbours where getting rid. I left all the metal out for the scrap man, gone in 24hrs. The middle bouncey bit no idea what you call it, that's been taken to cover and kill weeds. The black mesh that's supposed to stop people falling off. I rolled up took out with me today as an extra net. Put up a 360 degree hide round the corner of a plough. About 8m or so of mesh. Excellent view through and hard to see into from a distance. Add a bit of foliage or material and you've got a super long hide net for nothing.
  9. 0830 - 1345 today, 1 bird between two of us. Nuff said.
  10. What he said, but if you want more comfort, Range Rovers are about the same price. Nearly as good but'll not last as long.
  11. But only for sale in Northern Ireland and if you can prove "need". ie: Self defence.
  12. If you Google a rant by Jim Davidson he covers this and more. I do wear a poppy and support the RBL, but I also find it strange they don't support the veterans being charged with invented crimes from Op Banner.
  13. Been on my perm today from 0830,not allowed to shoot before that. Four crows feeding right in front of one of my permanent hides but as soon as I came within a quarter mile they took to trees and stayed there. Spent the next 2 hours recceing. Had a couple of little walks too. Little evidence of feeding birds. Total Zero..... plenty of pheasant about and lots of little Robins. No shots fired. Home in time for lunch and a nap. So, that's my report of the day🤪
  14. Few years back after a good snow I crossed the Snake from Sheffield. Caravan in tow for a week in Wales. Loads of vehicles abandoned and buried in drifts. On driving into Glossop I was flagged down by a Police 110 Land rover. Asked where I had come from I explained and was told the Snake had been shut for days, "Impassable". Should learn to drive then I said. No signs out. Buried in the snow I was told. Police man just shook his head and said you might as well carry on now. Back on topic to tyres. I prefer General Grabber AT3s for an affordable tyre in preference to my summer Pirelli Scorpions. I bartered with my local independent and had 4 fitted for £500. If they still did AT2s I'd have them, they where a little better but slightly noisier. If you can afford more try BF Goodrich all terrains. Harder wearing, slightly more noise than AT3s but have a super reputation.
  15. Excellent, no idea how I'd use it but I'm tempted just to be differant. 👍
  16. Very uncomfortable for me. I'd been spoting all morning was very wrapped up in layers and not expecting to shoot at all. It was cold and wet and the wooden tables slimy. Firing uphill into a narrow gully as a backstop at the BOAR shooting ground. I knelt for safe shooting, however, my legs don't support my body for more than a few seconds and my left arm lacks movement. Hence the forced position, stool pushed under to help. I push against the bipod hard to give stability and merely rest my left hand. Had I been intending to shoot I would have dressed differently and found a more suitable firing position. I was in the process of packing away when my son asked me to fire the last 5 rounds of the day. It was more impromptu than design.
  17. Went out today with my son to zero his new Sako .243 with scope and moderator. He found out of 3 types of ammunition it/he prefers Winchester Varmint X. After he'd zeroed it, I tried just 5 rounds at 101m, firing up hill. Right to left wind 2.9mph. First time I've shot a rifle since around 1999 so I'm not too disappointed. Pulled the first shot. 18. Yup, take your money and run. Not a lot of dealers make that offer. I'd snap it up. Cut your losses, I think he's been more than fair trying to fix and is probably breaking even or loosing himself now, hence the refund. He will sell it again, but he's a business, in it for profit not to make friends.
  19. Seriously? Don't you think soldiers have enough to do without patrolling the streets of Britain. Maybe you'd like martial law and a curfew. Soldiers aren't traffic bollards to be placed on street corners. Soldiers are people too, they have wife's, families, girlfriends, why even I had a mother and possibly a father once.
  20. I was told under 30 mins drive, but again its different rules different areas. My perm takes me 20 - 25 mins normal. 15 in lockdown(no traffic) I'm with you on that, its also my daily exercise.
  21. There are big numbers on my perm, on 4 fields of rape and several of just been planted. However, due to the steepness of the land and soft greasey going im struggling to get to where they are. In the parts I can get to, either they see me and don't come back or I simply walk them off and again they don't come back. If I get off 10 shots I've had a busy morning. That's shots not kills. Yesterday 8 shots at range and zero picked. If I did a write up on how I watched them for an hour and walked them off in the waterlogged bottoms or sat looking at them watching me from the woods I don't have permission to shoot in. Nothing interesting there. On the other hand if I was shooting pheasant, I regularly put up birds worth shooting but I have a gentlemans agreement not to shoot game as there are people paying for the privilege, so I just pretend and say bang. Never missed one yet on that score. No foxes seen only traces of. No rabbits seen. Odd deer, but not with a shotgun and definitely not at the range I see them. No more tree rats either. Farmers happy, I'm keeping birds off his fields and I'm getting fresh air so it's not all bad news.
  22. Methinks the rules are as before: No fishing, although the Angling Trust has published a document stating its allowed. I'll try and post a copy if I can find it again. No clay shooting. No game shoots. Two of my local shoots are running "last" shoots this Wednesday. The farm next to my perm ran an unscheduled driven Saturday (yesterday) Crop protection and vermin control allowed.
  23. That's more or less what I'm after. My local clay ground has a rifle range up to 300 yards and allows black powder it's only £50 per year membership so "I think" I would stand a good chance. It's passed by the Police and my RFD has already told me there are a few local users. I've not applied for FAC yet and with the new lockdown may leave it to the new year. I'm still in the thinking can I justify it stage yet. What I want and what I can do are always differant.
