ballymoney
regarding Lavin Guns, was in last week some set up, cartridges are very cheap now as prices are dropped. Very helpful and Tom, the owner, has alot of expierence in shooting so he gives alot of tips and advice. Overall very good shop best in Northern Ireland i believe. !! Also sells near enough everything from fox calls to wellies to jackets to knives. Can be contacted anytime on 02827641204 and 07540599180. Also they have set up a website and can be contacted through this www.lavinguns.com Lavin Guns
Cannon
Never been to Lavin Guns but spoke to them a couple of times on the phone. Each time the owner was very willing to spend time and offer advice and recommendations. My recent experiences with a few gun shops over here have knocked my confidence though. Most seem to want to sell you something you don't want and quote ridiculous prices for stuff compared to across the water. We always seem to get shafted over here for the basics. Fishermanpaddy
Hi guys from Norn Iron was reading a thread about poor service from gun shops and made me think about it. I have had mixed experiences from the small number of guys that I have dealt with. Who would you recommend or who would you avoid? I will start the ball rolling, I have bought from McCloys in Toome and found them very good, but are a bit far too travel to for carts etc.I would use them again if buying a gun/rifle, they seem to have a good supply of decoys, clothing etc but no experience of buying those type of things. My local dealer is in Moy and it is very hit and miss with supplies and prices. He always seems to be getting what you want the next week. I had a 20 bore shotgun a few years ago and had to replace it as they could not get a regular supply of cartridge at a fair price. I just got frustrated not being able to get cartridges when I needed them and they are the closest to me that I knew of at that time. I recently bought 250 carts no 6 32 grm pigeon special at a cost of £53. it has been a while from I dealt with him and thought this was expensive. Have had my quota increased so I can buy 1000 carts at any one time, so if anyone can point me in a better direction? U can buy a carton of Kent velocity 32 6's for 46 quid i think in Andersons in Omagh. Anyone know the cheapest place for the 6's?

My mate is left handed and he has got a Benelli Montefeltro, which he has had a lot of success with. You probably would have to buy new but Benelli are worth the money for sure, it will last a life time. been to crawford sports, woodlodge guns and thought their prices weren't as good as lavin guns Lavin Guns has a nice set-up but I would far rather get my cartridges from Tam Glass, he is much cheaper and a decent fella.
