just local shoot for me - needed to try out my new Beretta Auto - after my Win X1 it sounds like zebbedy - boing boing twang twing - what a racket and it had the nerve to fail to load once. - shot rubbish with 49x60 but it was good enough to win visitor class so 50 shells help with the costs. Will give this Beretta a month after that it's back to X1 and pain in thumbs (due to way I have to load it - left handed but shoot right handed.)

I heard that they're going to change the rules in FITASC to take away full use of gun on the singles, i.e. one shot only, that's gonna make it soooooooooo much harder..!!

Cat.

that sounds like a good idea to me, it will split the good from the bad better. on the shoots where your only getting 1 pair per stand there were some crazy high scores cus most can shoot a clay with 2 shots available. can only improve it i say  they should then increase the number of pairs per stand

Sorry Emmsy but couldn't disagree more, do away with FUG on the singles and increase the number of pair i.e. reduce the number or eliminate the singles and you might as well be shooting a spread out version of sportrap or Compaq.

Old system FITASC was competition shooting at it's purest and because of that became very popular in the 70's and 80's. New system had to be invented to allow the increasing numbers to participate and do you remember the up-roar amongst the diehards when that happened? Then the gradual reduction in shot load from 36g to the current 28g and the ever increasing cries that it was getting too easy and the targets were too close! Funny thing though, the same names where at the top of the leader board whether it was old style 36g or new style 28g and if they change to one shot on singles or spread out Compaq the same pecking order will prevail.

So why change? what will it achieve, the Butcher will still win the World Championship and OK the guys placed 547 and 548 might swap places but other than that why, bit greener less lead (or steel!!) "polluting" the ground, bit cheaper although saving the cost of an additional 10 or 20 shells is hardly likely to sway the argument. Saves time, might mean your on the way home a couple of minutes earlier but not enough surely to squeeze a few more shooters on a squad.

This smacks of trying to fix something that basically isn't broken, it's like doing away with the second serve at tennis but I bet if they did that Nadal or Federer would still win the Grand Slams.

Leave FITASC alone or rather don't mess around with it anymore.

the biggest problem with fitasc is its cost! fix that and they would be well on the way up in popularity.

and yes fitasc has got easier partly with the amount of singles and closer targets, you only have to look at the scores to see that.

imo its supposed to be the pinacle of shooting so why not ditch the second shot or score a hafl for a second barrel kill.

its our county fitasc at the end of the month, but the thing that will probably stop me shooting it will be the entry fee! its just too expensive for what it is

They didnt have the cherry picker stand open when we were up....

I like going there because our ground is flat so we dont get to shoot high driven/crosser or targets appearing from under you....

98/100 on Skeet today. Dropped 2 on the first round so another 75 straight and 1st equal in B class, picking up £39.

Top 4 in each class then took part in a shoot off for £200 in each class (pairs from stations 3, 4 and 5 )- also won that so not a bad day. £239.

Still waiting to see results of yesterdays registered esp at Northall - may pick something up for my 79 in B class there too.

A good weekend for me I think

CPSA scores in for Northall - looks like a got joint 3rd place in B class (with 2 others :good: ) - 82 winning the class, if only....................

Tried my local blackwater shoot tonight, nice change having 5 pairs managed 23/30 would normaly be pleased but perfect 10 on first stand so could have done better. Thanks to MC for letting me try his F3 with the recoil reduction felt nice might have one fitted on my beretta.

I managed to miss one of the right to left crossers on the middle stand, and one of the high going away birds on the right hand stand, finishing on a 28/30. The tower was a bitch as it ran out of clays on both traps while I was shooting and I had to wait while they were refilled.

Last round with my old faithfull gun today, a 39/50 and a 22/25 all sporting at Marne Barracks, Paulos shot a 22/25 as well, which meant our team went on to beat Foxhall 165 to 170, by 5 points in the north yorkshire/cleveland league. Next week will be the last shoot of the season. I think we maybe 3rd or 4th overall at the moment. from Auntie.
