steve_b_wales
Diesel fuel is averaging 114.9 /Ltr in my area. Today, I went down to the coast, and saw it priced at 122.9/Ltr. It's the dearest I've seen so far, not including motorway garages. Any advance on the above price?
bigstevouk
Round here at 114.9 for dev and 1p cheaper for unleaded....... Edited January 17, 2010 by bigstevouk
6shot
we use key fuels which should give us a better deal than going to a normal garage .but our key fuels price for this week is 96.6 pence plus the vat of 16.9 pence which gives 113.5 and thats about the same as the normal pumps. so no better of. dont forget vat just gone back up to 17.5% but dont worry to much think of all that extra money the goverment will be able to give to the lay abouts
Lambpie
Same up here, around 114.9pl. Did anyone notice fuel go down in price when VAT was reduced to 15%?
steve_b_wales
I think I'm right in saying that for every £1.00 paid for fuel, 87p goes to our beloved government in tax and VAT.
6shot
we had our red diesel tank filled a few weeks back at a cost of 46 pence a litre. also the vat on red is only 5%. all the diffrence for a little red dye.

guss109
Im in the oil capital of europe and still getting charged £114.9 wish i was in the states
Marcus
Same price round me Steve. One of my mates used to buy Red and took the chance, never got dipped. I think you can buy dyes, to dye it back to normal, roadside dips are just based on a visual check on colour I believe
shaun4860
£109.9 here... but our local Jet garage has an offer on that if you spend over £25 you get 2p per litre off so its £107.9 for diesel shaun

Ricko
with regard to using 'racing red' diesel fullers earth will remove the dye but the hm excise take a dim view and have been known to give out hefty fines i am fairly sure that pira in n.ireland had a scam with removing the dye a number of years ago
amateur
How much is rape seed oil? I was paying 84ppl (Morrisons 3 litre bottles) a couple of weeks ago - haven't bought any in the last 2 weeks, so I don't know if it has changed. I add 12 litres to 30 litres of diesel, and my car runs well on it

PhilR
Asda 109.9p per litre this evening, unleaded 107.9p
Ricko
cat litter is made from fullers earth, an absorbant clay we had 'puffers' of fullers earth in our 'blot bang rub' kits for chemical warfare fullers earth will remove the red dye i played around with it a good number of years ago i dont think i would risk veg oil in a modern diesel but an old one would certainly take it declaring to the excise of course
Marcus
Dont think you need to go to length of Fullers Earth for Diesel, liquid dyes are available
Dougy
not a good idea using fullers earth, as deposits it will cause allot of premature engine wear, of course if your driving an old banger and aint too bothered about damage and can afford to pay the fine and then buy another old banger then ok fair enough. Just pay the money or get a push bike, there's no way out of it.

amateur
.....i dont think i would risk veg oil in a modern dieselbut an old one would certainly take it declaring to the excise of course Modern VW engines are designed for biodiesel, and as long as you use no more than 2500 litres a year you don't need to declare veg oil usage to HMCR

reddan
my pajero will run on 100% sunflower oil from Makro. My dad's and his mates are all the same as well. Still not cheap enough though. I don't really bother now. Dan
JA3llis
I have seen a few landys with a secondary fuel tank fitted under the seat full of red and plumbed into the engine. They leave the standard tank in with a gallon of white and when it gets dipped it comes out clean simple.
