A mate I used to shoot with many moons ago had a 12Ft-LB HW35 and he used to bag foxes with one-shot kill head-shots. Is this a public forum? al4x Posted February 11, 2010 Report Share Posted February 11, 2010 foxes skulls aren't that hard, airguns kill people without a problem in accidents its as ever put the bullet in the right place and it will do the job. Pest controllers have been using them for years on caged foxes as the legal aspect is so much easier to deal with than FAC and as shown they do work. A .177 air rifle is more than enough to dispatch a fox in a live cage trap, a friend of mine keeps chickens and gets at least one a week. I remember reading a blank shot managed to kill a man by causing the skull to fracture and a largeish fragment was propelled into the brain. But all your hard work was not needed As i take out rhino with my 1974 model gat gun at distances up to 700 yrds . So you can take a fox with this weapon at up to 2 miles , which is easy with the gats open sites .
