Disposing of Crows

Hi

I have applied for my SGC and hopefully will get it, I will then be shooting crows for a farmer, how does everyone on here dispose of the dead ones

Agreed Les, especially if your name is Bare Grilse, but if you are up in the The Much Better (Northern) Half of the Country then you have to have Brown Sauce (Not Tomato Ketchup like the Soft Southerners) and Stale Bread and Dripping with them!

Chuck them in a hedge out of public view and away from rights of way or into a ditch, the next day they will be gone apart from a few feathers.

Yeah, the foxes soon clear up the bodies, but also, throw them away from any area u may want to put your hide in the near future. If its hot weather, they will stink for a day or two and you dont want to be sat in your hide smelling rotting corpses

some farms still have a tip or a dead pit ask first before dumping in a hedge

what, you mean you dont intend to take them home so you can stuff them and have your very own crow army?!

I was looking into re-animation and wouldn`t half fancy an undead zombie crow army so i may start keeping mine in a freezer.

Crows and Rooks in the hedge...Always take a couple of Jackdaws home to freeze...Then use then next time for decoys....

Take them to a good vets, theyre bound to get them going again. How hard can it be

feed them to the ferrets and leave some for the foxes to keep them away from the hens

I drop them off at the same spot every time in order to bait the area and get the rats, crows and magpies to regularly call in to see if there's any carrion to eat. Every now and then I'll sit in wait and oblige the visitors with some lead. I call it recycling.

i once shot over 130 crows(one of my best mornings out). i left them for the farmer to throw in the duckle which he never did.charlie had them carried away inside 2 days.there were bird remains everywhere over 3 field lengths away.every fox in the country must have been at them.nothing goes to waste. nature sees to it.

I hide them in a grave that has been dug in the graveyard close to me and fire them into it, then I say a few prayer's for their lost souls,I only do this CAAA I feel guilty about leaving them ina ditch with their friend's.

45 gallon drum and cremate them if only a few. Never had a big bag as such so will probably keep a few for fox trap and then burn the rest.

i take a few home and freeze them for next trip as decoys .also for fiox bait in traps .i set what i call dead piles around the farm land and monitor which pile is being taken .then return with the 243 on the lamp

I think you would find they would not want them with lead in them

I once put a couple in my mates glove box thinking he would find them the next day!!! His wife complained about the stench two weeks later!!! Im waiting for the return favour!! :blink:
