Billy.
I'm not naming names, but I was having a look through a member's YouTube videos and I was really shocked to see this. I wouldn't ever walk in front of a loaded gun. Even if it had the safety on: name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="480" height="385"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="480" height="385"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>">
Frenchieboy
I'm inclined to agree here that it is not the best advert for "Gun Safety"!

Dave-G
Assuming the camera man had the camera to his eye - which is less than 6 inches from the top of his head - he was below the field of fire whilst looking at the rifle. That the filming continued to witness the safety being dropped off after the camera man was clear makes it a bit of an eye opener - but little to get all precious about IMO given that each was fully aware of the others actions. This thread will of course bump up their viewing figures as it goes between the forums with suitable amounts of ohmygosh safety alerts. It's well suited for post whores and such though. COACH
It`s not right but the safety was on and the finger was no where near the trigger. To do that camera shot the gun should of been loaded after the camera had passed.

Dekers
There is obviously a marked difference in many peoples perception of Safety. I am running an Air Rifle training course for 12 professional Pest Technicians next month... 2 points... 1. If I ever allow this sort of behaviour I will sack myself!! 2. If any technicion does anything close to this they will fail!! My Course, My rules!! ATB!!

Chard
I don't see the point of the videos either. Is it a willy-waving thing? Man looking through a scope (yawn) of three different guns (double yawn).

CZ550Kevlar
Surely Mistake and Firearms are 2 words you don`t really want to ever see in the same sentence, never had a good mistake.
Rem223
From their website.... Rabbit Control is led by ex-forces personnel so weapon safety is our priority. Hmmm
njc110381
I think the fact that the line of fire was well above the camera mans head helps a lot. It would be very unlikely that he could get hurt as the rifle is on a bipod but I would agree that it's not ideal! I wouldn't allow anyone to stand in that position in front of me if my rifle was loaded.

njc110381
Most office workers aren't allowed to change a light bulb these days. Anyone wanting to use a gun at work is going to need some sort of training!

It makes perfect sense to have training for the use of air rifles, my job is now starting to become involved in the murky depths of health and safety, I found out the other day that someone who was asked to go a 'ladder course' (perfectly sensible) said they don't use ladders, only the kick about steps, and they do a course for that too! So, to have a half day/full day training on airrifles makes sense. Bear in mind some of the these guys may have never shot one, and I imagine pest controllers use airguns in some pretty bizarre places.
