As above does anyone ever use a camping style stove when out shooting ? If so what do you use and when ?

I cant see why anyone would when these days there are such good flasks ! But I would still like to to find an excuse to use one ! Simlar to this: http://www.upandunder.co.uk/eshop/catalogu...scription_ID=84

Maybe to use when stood out roost shooting in the cold of february ! I know a flask would do it but its just not as fun is it !

yup use one all the time,Keep it in the defender. bought it in halfords, stick a small canister of gas in and off you go, makes great burgers, bacon sannies and cups of tea. also take it out on the boat fishing.

Only problem I have found is that in the winter when its freezing, the gas flow is not so good. but for £15 its otherwise brilliant

Even better........On our little shoot we have installed a caravan with a cooker that runs off Calor gas. If I get a bit weary I can just pop on the kettle and have a lie down on the long seat/bed. Have seen loads of deer and foxes whilst sitting in there having a cuppa as they are so used to it they don’t take any notice of it anymore.

My shooting buddy has a jet boiler, absolutely brilliant for quick cuppas in between walk-ups as it boils a litre of water in 45 seconds.

For bacon and sausage we use one of those flat bistro style stoves that take an aerosol size gas cannistor, however if it is really cold and the gas wont boil off in the cannistor we have a swedish army petrol stove that is equally effective

My stove lives in the defender its ideal when you are out shooting with a couple of mates because you can make as many cups as you have water for. The flask is not bad but what happens when one wants tea and one wants coffe? carry two flasks or carry a little stove. Mine runs on petrol so its very cheap to run about £1 a month and you never need worry about running out as you can just pop to the local garage and fill it up unlike the gas canisters which are not available as easy. This is the same as mine.
