jinxy72
depends what ur payin for them m8 ... ive had the escort and didnt have any issues ... cycled 21's through it too ... but ... i bought mine when they were £299 new !!! wouldnt pay the new price now for one ... if u can get a good second hand one for sub £300 then id go for it... also consider an older beretta urika as can be had for sub £500 and are a really good semi auto

billytheghillie
2nd that hatsan for me, fires everything, but my one does not like small shells. for the money you will not go wrong, i payed £340 for a new one with a sling thrown in. get one you will not be dissapointed
kent
For me the Webley, too many issues with Hatsan some are fine but many are total pants it seems. Exactly what you seem to get with poor quality control i have never heard of a bad Webley Auto though
J@mes
A later style (the one with the curved butt plate) Hatsan - as far as I can work out from comments on here, they have less issues than the older one!
sitsinhedges
Hatsans are cheaper and the company doesn't change hands or go bust on a weekly basis unlike webley, plus it has an unconditional 3yr g'tee. That's what I'd go for

Thats what i have. And the spacer system for reach is so simple.
verminman
thanks for that lads i can get a brand new webley & hatsan wood stock for around the same price i read on the shooting times that webley give a lifetime warranty

Webley do not have the best track record in that department.
verminman
very good point i think highland outdoors have taken over webley
yickdaz
this won;t help much but neither..go straight for a maxus had one for 3 weeks and shot over 300 pigeons with it and no jams at all with it ;its the 30 ins barrel premium model but you can get a second hand one for around £900 if you can spend that much. Alanl50
Webleys are made for them by HATSTAND, Go for the Hatsand, with the webley you have conditions to keep, servicing ETC for the life time warrranty! you will have no probs with your Hatsan. Alan The Webleys are Turkish for sure, but not made by Hatsan as far as I was aware, can you post the link between Hatsan-Webley? Canis
The Webleys are Turkish for sure, but not made by Hatsan as far as I was aware, can you post the link between Hatsan-Webley? Cheers The Webley is made by AKKAR in turkey the early webley 810 i had required an o- ring to be fitted to cycle small carts properly. They now have a redesigned reversible piston to cope with different sized carts. while both are reasonably(ish) reliable, you do not get flawless cycling from either the webley or the Hatstand. (runs for cover and opologises for any spate of Hatstand-o-philic posts that follow ) if you want flawless operation save up a few more £ and buy an Ulrika or Maxus
Bradders
I have a Webley 812, fires everything from 24 to 36 with no problems, only time it has failed to recycle is when I put steel shot through it and thats because the rims on the box of cartridges i bought were very poor. Oh and I hardly clean it properly(except when it gets wet) and it still behaves...... Edited October 11, 2010 by Bradders
brentus
i bought one of the £299 black ones a couple of years ago, missed a lot of right & lefts not to mention right left & centres through jams , i now use my trustee AYA No2 side x side for everything, it never lets me down. mind you all turkish guns can't be **** cos they didn't do bad at Gallipoli
Edward
A later style (the one with the curved butt plate) Hatsan - as far as I can work out from comments on here, they have less issues than the older one! What he said I had no problems with it, it did jam on 65mm cartridges and it jammed when I forgot to put the o ring back on, but other than that it was great I think my next gun is going to be an escort pump
brentus
i bought an escort a few years back , one of the first ones , had alot of problems with jams , the new ones i believe are better
motty
I had a webley 810 3 1/2" for about two outings before it went wrong. Very poor service from webley. Traded for beretta xtrema, glad i did.
wacker
I have a left hand 3"magnum Escort which i bought new two months back, 2000 carts later - no issues. For some reason my scores have improved since i changed from my cherished Beretta supersport! ( i needed to finance a new ifor williams trailer)! Yes, they are not as "finished" as a Bereta or Benelli, but for the money they are fine guns.
adymorris
What you really need to get is the one that fits you, not the one that someone else likes
luckytrigger
I own a Hatsan synthetic stocked 3" magnum 12g and love it. For the money they are hard to beat mine cyles just about anything and has the bonus of me not having to worry too much about scratching it for the amount paid for it. Some gun snobs will say they are awfull but ive owned top end semi's (benelli m2, Beretta urika) and find the cheapy hatsan just as useable.
