nice fish mate. i love barbel fishing. i use to go on the rive teme not far from where it runs into the seven at worcester with a mate of mine. some very big barbel and put up a cracking fight. also big chub in there which is a bonus.

cant beat that rod slamming off the rest when they take the bait

exactly that mate... they dont tend to mess about with the bait. you cant leave the rod unattended or its going down the river lol

your right there mate. if you got the bair runner set up its not to bad. but the teme is very tight in places and you wouldnt want then running.

what river did you get that on

where abouts in hereford matey as where i go is hereford. between holme lacy and hereford on my brothers day ticket stretch. very good fishing if you can get it right. fishy spice feed and a spicy hookbait on a size 6 hair rigged on to 20" link. 3oz feeder loaded with your fish spice mix. 2 hours before dark and recast every 15 minutes until 30mins before dark then cast and leave till it goes. they then go off feed about 3 hours after dark.

i had 11 barble, 12 chub and a few big bream 3 weeks ago, that was my first and last trip so far this year. we are thinking about putting time in for the carp next year but i dont really have the time to campaign it now days.

nice fish

A little tip, if you are targeting Barble i would not use anything less than 10lb line, ive had quite a few off the Dove and it definately would not be the norm to use anything less

agreed ! i wouldnt usually , 8 or 10lb is better, but i didnt have none  not to worry have been tackle shop now for next time :)

Nice one. My favourite UK freshwater fish. I am missing my barbel fishing. In the 05/06 season I caught exactly 170 barbel into double figures, catching at least one fish every month of the season (just!). Still have tickets on the Lower Teme and Middle Severn but haven't got up there yet this year. Last season's tally was 2 fish in 2 hours completed within the first three hours of the season.

I wish you many more memorable fish!
