some good scores there today :yes: well!! except timps  what happened?

God knows, I had a few drinks and a late night so am hoping it's that. Or maybe it was shooting with a birds only Muppet and his bent 3/8 choke. I shot the end of the shoot ok but I wanted to go home half way round.

At least I picked up my winnings from last time so I did not have to pay for the shoot, that would have rubbed salt into the wound.

Well shot everyone, especially Nicky for that 87 :good:

Having not slept a wink last night I set off early doors for Rufforth and shot the 1st NOE Skeet Selection. Started dreadfully by missing low 1 single - and then AGAIN on the repeat! :o Dug in for the rest of the round and then straighted the next. Then shot 2x 24's to finish on 96. Not too flash, but steady enough <_< . Azzurri also shot the skeet and stuck in a cracking 98 after missing one on his 2nd and 4th rounds - well shot chap :good:

We then went round and shot the 50 reg sporting that was also on there. Aside from a few trap problems early on I quite enjoyed it. It was split into 2x 25 bird layouts, one at each end of the ground, with 3 stands on each. There were some tricky targets on, as expected, but nothing jaw-droppingly difficult. I managed a 41/50 and Azzurri a 44/50. 47 won it overall

Well(ish) shot, you Yorkie slags :sly:

I expect I'd have straighted the skeet and maybe dropped one on the Sporting.

You might have been on for a 65 at Catton if you'd have made the effort <_<

It's when your brain wont allow you to pull the trigger, sometimes I have 4 or 5 attempts at the clay before i finally get the cartridge out of the gun.I'm told that it is caused by recoil, it's abit of a pain and quite entertaining to watch as the barrels usually flip.As it normally only happens 2 or 3 times on a shoot ,i can live with it :o . (fibre wads affect me alot more than plastic).from Auntie.

Have you tried shooting a semi-auto ??? after shooting mines for a while I reduce loads on clays for a couple of weeks to get used to the recoil again

Do you have to book onto the Cheshire Shield? I forgot all about it and haven't booked, but I might be able to get there Thursday.

Anybody know if I can just turn up and win enter? :P

Chard,

There are two answers to your question, probably and yes. I'd definately go for the yes as I've pre-booked two (non PW) mates on and 1 definately can't make it and the other is doubtful so you can have one of their places.

I'll give you a call on Wednesday evening to arrange a time but their are a couple of conditions;

No cheating i.e. standing behind people when they are shooting.

No reminding people in a loud voice that you are El Magnifico (Others will think the boy and I are moving in circles above our station)

Luckily there is no Birds Only option so we don't have to go through that embarrasment again.

Remember there will be alot of police persons there so be aware of what your saying, no references to the Walthamstow blag or two fingered Ronnie's concrete sleeping bag.

See you Thursday, you know it makes sense.

Thanks Tam, yes i did try with a semi auto but just couldn't live with the noise and the litter  and also the inevitable jamming  . I have tried lighter loads but again didn't have the confidence with them. :/ I know it's in my head but it normally only happens a couple of times per 100, so i cope with it . from Auntie.

Shot at JC Marsh on Sunday didn't shoot very well complete lack of concentration carded five sevens on the trot with only one of them not being three away in the last two pair  "note to self give your head a shake" straighted the last stand i shot so didn't end badly which was stand one as went round backwards to beat the qeues.

Finished with a 78 my son getting back some form finished 39 ex 50

Sorry to hear about your flinching Auntie spoke to you as i came off the stand with one bust trap just the single incomer i missed three of last four on that stand, you were about to shoot after our group and said you expected to miss a few aswell, hope you get it sorted soon :good:

Excrement :good:

El Magnifico is up for it an' ting :sly:

I think you spelt embarrassment wrong, by the way. You clearly need some coaching.

I'll stand behind you at Hodnet, reciting the correct spellings. P - U - L - L spells "pull" :good:

Damn the lack of spell checker (my best friend) on the works computer. If one has the temerity to try and download such a helpful application the whole network goes into either shutdown or meltdown and the IT Gestapo come round and kill you.

I have no objection you standing behind me at Hodnet you cheeeeeeeeeeeting scumbag, you of course won't mind if I stand behind you going M - I - S - S spells "miss" although you will get fed up after hearing it 60 or 70 times :lol::lol:

Mr Potter

Being too frightened to even talk to the above mentioned IT experts, my spell checker here at home is English (US). It doesn't like the usual words like colour but when I checked this it decided that "spelt" wasn't a word and wanted to replace it with splat??? Oh and El Magnifico becomes El Magnifier which could explain why you think you've got a big c**k :rolleyes:

I can see you reading this, Gimps. Are you up for this beanfeast? :sly:

Is this referring to me? Are you actively stalking me? Are you cheeeeting again by looking at the posts I am reading?

After my Catton debacle I am going to buy a new gun, extended ported chokes, have my skeet vest fitted and move to Hull.

I fancy it but I don't think I can spare the time off work as international man of mystery / playboy based in the Bury area.
