Get a Hatsan Escort mate, £400 new and as reliable as a loyal old dog.:yes::yes:

Is that one of those old dogs who sits there does what it wants and farts a lot ;)

Personally i'd have a second hand better made gun over a hatstand any day, my old browning B80 has has a huge number of cartridges through it and never missed a beat. Might be being upgraded soom but only to something that will take 3" cartridges and believe me it won't be a hatsan ;)

Hi

I have been shooting for 40 odd years. Have used various autos,

Beretta,Browning ,Winchester at clays and live targets. I now use a Benelli SBE2. Best yet. Has not missed a beat in

over a year[28gm 7.5 thru to 3" magnums]. A bit pricey but in my opinion"worth it"

If I had to replace it, it would definitely be another Benelli.

Franchi 712,from the Beretta stable, very underated...Remi'11-87.Nephew has a Benelli which I thought looked too long and unbalanced for him,but it's a fabulous piece of kit.

definatly consider a franchi Raptor 712,I had one and it was excellent,it's got made by Benilli stamped all over it,,htere are under rated and sell cheap

Been looking at some today and yes I don't like the Hatsan plus didn't like the Winchester SX3

But did like the Beretta Teknys 28"

But still looking

I would have to say the AL391 Urika Teknys is excellent, i have owned mine for about 8 months from new and it's now had around 10000 cartridges through it, never had an issue, the only exception being a couple of fail to cycles but they were with 24g loads both times following a recoil spring replacement.

I give it a full strip and clean if it gets wet, otherwise about every 6 weeks although that can vary depending on how dirty the cartridges you use are.

The SX3 is also well worth a look, but for me more percieved recoil than the 391.

I can honestly comment on the others having not shot them or knowing people with them, the Benelli M2 i have tried and it knocked me about due to bad fit but wouldn't blame that on the gun.

Jon.

Benelli get's my vote :good:

I've been using a Super 90 regularly for clays and pigeons for over ten years, it's uber reliable and has almost no signs of wear.

+ No gas parts

+ Lovely chromed internals which are easy to keep clean

+ Nice slim fore-end due to the lack of gas rods and pistons up front

+ Handles anything from 24g upwards

Had a beretta al390 gold mallard was brilliant cycled any cartridges even very light ones to the 3 inch kahuna never missed a beat and took 2 mins to strip down and clean and even when I missed a few cleanings it was still superb. Although I didn't really get on with the gun it had a 30 inch barell and felt like swinging a telegraph pole.

Fletch - top choice IMO.

I OWN both Beretta (Urika2) and Benelli (M2 FAC) and these 2 makes are a good 'ole country mile ahead of the rest of the pack.

You will not be dissapointed. :good:

£1380.00 with 2 boxes of cartridges and a £27 sling for free.

Yes it is a bit pricey but better to buy once than twice if you go too cheep

Got it from

Another vote for the beretta 391 from me. I bought one many years back and still have it. I got it because I wanted to be a bit different down my local clay pigeon shoot (as everyone there shoots o/u`s), also i wanted something which would be ideal for clays, pigeons, pretty much anything. I tried a few out and the 391 fitted like a glove.

I must have had it for 7 or 8 years now and its hardly gone down in value at all over that time. Ive shot thousands and thousands of shells through it and only had 1 jam. I clean it every so often - nice and easy to clean, and use anything from 21g upwards in it. Some weekends ive put 500 cartridges through it with no problems and because its got hardly any recoil my shoulder isnt killing afterwards. Dont think i`ll ever sell mine, its such a cracking gun. Only thing I sometimes wonder is whether id prefer the 28" barrel over the 30" one mine has, and when I first saw the extrema i quite fancied the look of the black synthetic stock but now im not so bothered.
