The Duncan
Hi folks, I've had a strange urge to have a bash at the invasive green parrots that have been reported. Does that make me a bad person ? So is anyone engaging them or know where they regularly go, so that I can look for permission? Cheers Duncan
Dekers
Parakeets? West London out to about Maidenhead, but steadily moving in all directions from this base. Noisy ******s that next to never land at ground level!
bakerboy
They have arrived in the Hitchin area, not big numbers as yet. Noisy but nice, but bad for native species especially Woodpeckers.
Catweazle
There are loads living in my woods and feeding on the orchard next field. I have permission on the orchard and asked the manager if he wanted me to shoot some of the parakeets and he said he wasn't bothered by them, despite the fact that you can see them eating the buds from the apple trees. I think he may change his mind when his trees are bare of apples this year, we'll see.

bakerboy
The question of shooting Parakeets came up a while ago, and it became a "yes you can/why do you" debate. Edited April 14, 2011 by bakerboy
gsm1968
What are the guide lines for shooting them ? Don't let HW100 know your doing it There was a thread on here a while ago on this subject, that got a bit heated.(think it got locked in the end) Do a search and you'll find out a lot more. ATB gsm edit to say: Terry beat me to it! Edited April 14, 2011 by gsm1968
al4x
Simply they are non native, noisy things that aren't doing any favours to our native birds. Give them both barrels for me Legal wise just read the OGL no need to try scaring them or anything else and hopefully none of the Wildfowlers want to shoot them otherwise they will be asking for a closed season for them and all sorts of nonsense

Curly87
Forget cuttlefish, all you need is Heather Mills standing in a field, they will come in and land on her shoulder in no time!
