Anth6568
HI i have a problem with a fox attacking my chickens it is walking around the garden every day and has broken into the rabbit hutch and caught a few chickens and stolen a brace of partriges. what would be the best way of getting rid of the fox cheers Hello I had a similar problem on my last shoot, over the 600 acre of land there were a number of chicken pens. I did shoot some foxes but in some areas I wasn't safe to do that, so I resorted to a cage trap. You can buy them on the Internet for around £80.00. It had a closing door at one end and you place the bait in the other. I placed it near the pens and after a couple of weeks the foxes are comfortable with it being there. At that point you are very likely to catch a fox. Once caught you can cover with a sheet and move the cage to a safe area. I then use to shoot the fox in the cage with a shotgun. Job done. njc110381
I'd shoot it in the garden if it's safe to do so. If not I'd cage trap it and take it to a place that is safe and shoot it there. If you can't shoot it yourself, where are you? Someone here may be able to help you and even lend you a trap.
