karpman
Hey guys after reading some other posts on semi and pump action shotties decided I fancy a pump. So which one for under 400, don't give a toss if its used but must be reliable and cycle just about anything. No Turkish junk Karpman

neil smith
If your only after a section 2 pump gun then any of the ones listed here will do. If your ever going to want it as a section 1 gun then you should consider a make that is easy to extend the capacity on. A remington 870 or a nova/supernova are the top choices in that case. The mossbergs are good but are not as easy to increase capacity on & even the section 1 mossbergs only hold 8 which is no use for practical competition as your starting with a handicap. Cake444
Winchester SXP inst a bad shout for £300. Nice gun and good for knocking about, very smooth and fast pump action as it has an Ar-15 style locking bolt that disengages on pulling the trigger. There are probably a fair few preferred pumpers, but it’s an option Good luck on your search!
retromlc
out of interest is the recoil on a pump the same as an O/U? must be as not gass diversion as on an Auto?
SneakyD
out of interest is the recoil on a pump the same as an O/U? must be as not gass diversion as on an Auto? Might be a bit heavier as the pump actions tend to be a bit lighter.
cant hit rabbits 123
Pumps generally have heavier recoil than O/U as they are lighter.
