Frenchieboy
The little .22LR is a cracking little round for "bunny bashing" at those sort of ranges and it helps to develop your fieldcraft skills. It's good to see that you are getting on well with it. The more you use it the more you will appreciate it! Well done!

paul6806
Nice bag there. Went out in the monsoon myself last night and brought back 4 adults for the pot. Left the youngsters in the hedges for Mr. Fox. I almost got Mr. Fox as well - but with the car as I drove back! Left the youngsters in the hedges for Mr. Fox. I almost got Mr. Fox as well - but with the car as I drove back! Eat the young 'uns they're the best eating by far! Much tenderer than the adults, even if there is a bit more effort skinning enough for a meal.

Much tenderer than the adults, even if there is a bit more effort skinning enough for a meal. I couldn't agree more mate! Especially as there are so many young uns about at this time of the year - On my permissions they are getting to be quite a good size! As it is I don't find the young uns more "fiddly" to skin and gut, easier in fact than adults and can be done quite quickly but I see what you mean about getting enough for a good meal, especially if you have a "very healthy appetite"! The young uns are great jointed and pan fried in butter with a chopped up shallot(sp) onion! Plus you can always use the rib bones as tooth picks when you have finished eating!
