Cosd
Shooting's been quiet for me these last couple of months. Caught up with one of my shooting buddies and we're a few weeks away from having the rape swathed. My first year on this permision but from what I've been told the farmer leaves it down for a while before taking it. Stubble for a few weeks after that then old fashioned drilling of barley and wheat for next crop leaving loads on the surface on this 1000 acre farm for the woodies and us to play on :good: I am sooooo excited Will go over there next week for a play to see if there's any laid crops that these winds might produce. A few night's on the rabbits as well at another permision, happy days...... Gun cleaning and kit sorting on the weekend me thinks
fieldwanderer
I know the feeling, harvest time's about the only time there's much to shoot at on my permission. For some reason, it's always the last to be harvested which just adds to the suspense! Might have to stock up on cart's, I intend to spend quite a bit of time down there this year
Sprackles
It's my 1st year on my permissions too and I've been told that he follows the harvester round, virtually drilling in its wake. I'm just happy to have somewhere to go at the end of the day.

stu nesling
luckily a local farmer this way leaves his rape stubble 3 months+ and even when he drills the birds are still coming to pick the last of the seed. hoping for some good bags of ferals and woodies in a bit. rape has already been sprayed off, just a matter of time now

Catamong
What do the spray for?? They spray it to dessicate it, (dry it out), normally about 2 weeks before it's cut. Cat
