Drying agent in gun cabinet

I hope the OP will allow a question about VP90.

I use VP90. VP90 works by depositing a 'mono molecular, self healing film on any exposed metal object'. I always wipe the metal surfaces of my guns with an oily cloth before putting them away. Does anyone know whether the oil would stop VP90 working properly?

Got large boxes of this in all cabinets but lay awake most nights terrified that my wooden stocks will dry out and crumble in a fortnight.

Dry them out every year in the oven per instructions.

Let wet guns dry out before putting them away.

:good:
