WHsmiths: Retract Policy on Sale of Shooting Magazines

"Whilst the age limit for acquiring a firearms certificate (required for the possession and purchase of certain rifles and high-capacity shotguns) is 14, there are a number of circumstances in which those aged under 14 can legally be involved in rifle sports.

Furthermore Shotgun Certificates can be Granted at any age. We, the undersinged, believe that shooting teaches valuable skills to young people, a respect and understanding for animal life. WHsmiths has been pushed by a minority group into supporting a rediculous policy that serves only to help criminalise shooting, a perfectly legal and acceptable sport. Furthermore the undersinged henceforth will nolonger shop at WHsmiths stores and outlets in support of this petition."

thanks guys and yes im sure i can probably edit it, i will try at least this keyboard has a number of keys which seem to work on and off, coupled with my poor spelling = disaster!

That would be good.

I've shared it on the facebook pages of shooting times and BASC. Does anyone else know any relevant groups we could send it to?

Thankyou guys! 503 signatures in less than 24 hours, keep checking the petition for updates.

There is also a link to the petition on the BASC "key issue" page regarding this matter. Thankyou BASC

660 now. :)

Shooting Times has raised the issue and have posted a link to the petition on their website, so they will probably have the link in the print version as well, when the magazine goes to print. So sometime in the next few days, as magazines hit the shelves, we could be seeing a surge in signatures.

Several others have posted links on their facebook pages as well.
