BerettaSV10
My benelli crio has no probs with hull comp x 21G and they must be the softest 21g load around.
oscarsdad
My maxus won't cycle 21g comp X so don't get one of those!
sitsinhedges
MY Urika feeds 21gram cartridges fine, even ones with the smaller 65mm case.
-Mongrel-
....but my older Beretta A303 would not cycle any less than 24g and it didn't like those much!

littlerob
my al391 urika dont like 21g or 28g hull comp x but have shot 24g gamebore white gold with no problems and remember most semi auto take recoil out to help with the reloading so im sure she will find 28g like 21g in the u/o Edited October 21, 2012 by littlerob

Floating Chamber
A yesteryear Winchester Model 50 or 59 with a Floating Chamber will cycle them all day long.
Catweazle
My Beretta A400 unico cycles Eley First 21g with no problems, and it's a 3.5" too.
BlaserF3
My Beretta A400 Excel will not cycle with 21gms. I'ts ok with 24gm though.
figgy
You could always get a 20 bore semi auto that will cycle 21g carts all day. Figgy
Guest cookoff013
over the pond, they homeload more, they recomend 1300fps minimum, with 21g loads for auto cycling. also should be in a 70mm case as jam on toast. most factory loads never get the quoted speed, prolly not even decent expected pressure, most of the jams i`ve had are from the 65mm cases. they are a nightmare. old_n07
Talking to one of the instructors at a local clay ground, he enlarged the gas ports on his Remi 1100 on advice from his gunsmith as it wouldn't cycle correctly with the 21g comp X and it's now fine. No noticeable difference with the heavier loads either according to him.
Salop Matt
My Benelli M2 wont cycle the 21gram carts reliably although I have only tried one brand and never tried 24gram !
coyotemaster
Browning Silver, Winchester SX3, Beretta 391 are noted for light load cycling, all autos must be as clean as a hounds tooth to work repeatedly and reliably with light loads. I would try out your prospect to see how it does, there are variations gun to gun. wouldn't hurt to try a couple brands of shells as well. oscarsdad
As mentioned - I would expect she would not need to use 21g in an auto - my girlfriend uses a little single barrel 12g with 21g hull comp X and has also used my maxus with 28g and there is little difference. If she is using an auto then I would think she would be fine with 28g.
bimmerman
You could always get a 20 bore semi auto that will cycle 21g carts all day. bimmerman
i think i should go to my local gun shop and see if i can use a berreta and try some different loads maybe 24grams for her its hard for her to shoot 28g. thanks for your help people its time to try and play this weekend Edited October 22, 2012 by bimmerman
WelshAndy
Try a beretta with the kick off recoil system, my beretta extrema 2 has it and when using 28gram loads there is no recoil!

You are very correct Blaser, the porting is designed for a variety of loads including 2 3/4 magnums with lots more gas pressure.I have seen broken action bars fractured from too much push. That said I have seen holes enlarged and 1 hole threaded for a small cap screw so that the gas could be cut in half for high power loads. My 3" 1100 came from the factory with 1 gas port and was designed for magnum shells only. But why bother? Go with a Beretta and save the headaches, 20 ga. is a fine gun but over here shells are less expensive and more available in different loads(steel esp.) for the 12. I am sure she could handle a Beretta as they have an aluminum receiver and are fairly brisk in the hand. The quality is legend.
