over the pond, they homeload more, they recomend 1300fps minimum, with 21g loads for auto cycling.

also should be in a 70mm case as jam on toast.

most factory loads never get the quoted speed, prolly not even decent expected pressure,

most of the jams i`ve had are from the 65mm cases. they are a nightmare.

Talking to one of the instructors at a local clay ground, he enlarged the gas ports on his Remi 1100 on advice from his gunsmith as it wouldn't cycle correctly with the 21g comp X and it's now fine. No noticeable difference with the heavier loads either according to him.

Browning Silver, Winchester SX3, Beretta 391 are noted for light load cycling, all autos must be as clean as a hounds tooth to work repeatedly and reliably with light loads. I would try out your prospect to see how it does, there are variations gun to gun. wouldn't hurt to try a couple brands of shells as well.

Buy a old Remmy 1100 and Tony Morris Guns will tune it to even lower loads ,open up the gas holes ,He has told me he has boys that shoot 21g by the 100s in practice at DTL ,He does love his Remmys and is a real gent

That's all very well if the owner never sells the gun, but if the gun is sold and the new owner is not told about the porting being altered and fires the maximum load which the gun was originally designed for, something is going to break.

You are very correct Blaser, the porting is designed for a variety of loads including 2 3/4 magnums with lots more gas pressure.I have seen broken action bars fractured from too much push. That said I have seen holes enlarged and 1 hole threaded for a small cap screw so that the gas could be cut in half for high power loads. My 3" 1100 came from the factory with 1 gas port and was designed for magnum shells only. But why bother? Go with a Beretta and save the headaches, 20 ga. is a fine gun but over here shells are less expensive and more available in different loads(steel esp.) for the 12. I am sure she could handle a Beretta as they have an aluminum receiver and are fairly brisk in the hand. The quality is legend.
