AVB
I visited a Whiskey distillery when I was in Scotland a couple of weeks ago. Was surprised at how small it was (it was the Glenturret distillery at Crieff which is branded as the Famous GRouse Experience as some of their stuff goes into the Grouse blend) and also taught me about single malts vs blended whiskey. I don't drink so the samples were enjoyed by my mate.
Chr15j
Top blend is Jonny walker green label. Specialist shops only afaik. £40/bottle and so worth it.

Im', into the single malts myself, but I must aggree green label is very moreish ha,ha You can't grumble with Dura for £20 a bottle either, I was in cosco the other day and bought a bottle of "black bottle "whisky from scotland it was also only £13 well worth a try ATB Flynny
Bloke
Went up to the Talisker Distillery earlier this year and bent the bank card buying a bottle of their Distillers Edition - Wow!! One of the smoothest malts I have ever tasted, grab some if you ever see it, too expensive for every day, but for high days and feast days, it is worth every penny (about £65 a bottle) Edited November 16, 2012 by Bloke

flynny
Hi Flynny what's the honey jd like? It's nice mate, I was out with the wife and saw it in the pub , I beleive it's only just arrived over here in the last few months from the states, Anyway I tried it over ice and it is bang on, It is a liquer though and to some palates could be quite sickly/sweet. Its got a honey/ toffee smokey flavour and with ice is mmmmmmmmmm luverley. Google it mate some drinkers say its nice mixed with ginger beer and coke etc , It is bout 33% instead of the usual 40 odd % and asda are doing it for £19 a bottle in waitrose they want £28 a bottle, ATB Flynny

aldivalloch
I LOVE these whisky threads!!! Most of you can spell neither "whisky" (there's no "e" in it!!!!!!!) nor the names of the malts you're so enthusiastic about! "glenlievet" is Glenlivet "Dura" is Jura "balvennie" is Balvenie "abalour" is Aberlour "buchladdig" is Bruichladdich "Dalamore" is Dalmore "glenmorgarie" is Glenmorangie "mcCallan" is Macallan If you look at the side of the bottle, you'll find it written there - just copy the letters!
