evo
Why shoot pheasants with an air rifle? why not ? , i am very confident in what i do and unless i was certain of a clean kill (head shot) under 40yrds then i see no reason why i should not, i have put the hours in and know what me and my rifle is capable of .if i was not confident of a clean kill i would never take the shot thanks

Dont let the bores of the world get yo you. If you can get a nice clean head shot, then its hammer time all day long.

Catweazle
The pheasant won't care if you blow it's brains out with an air rifle or a Purdey.
docholiday
as you can walk up to most pheasants it doesnt take a great deal to shoot them with an air gun, not my idea of a sporting shot, but each to their own. as for the photo.hmmmm Edited November 16, 2012 by docholiday

docholiday
sorry dont want to dampen your good day, I just dont like shots of us guys all cammo'd up, brandishing guns and dead animals. it just feels wrong to me, I know its what we all do but I just dont think it promotes what we do in the correct light, I am just turning into an old fogey so dont take to much notice of me, photo is good quality though all the best doc

parapilot
Nice one mate, not as if your some silly kid with a break barrel (despite what John says about you haha) You ensured a safe clean kill and headshot with a 22 air or shotgun don't matter on a pheasant, It's ready to be eaten. Enjoy.

oscarsdad
why is it legal to shoot 'game' with an air rifle but not a semi auto? just a keeper asking a question! It's not illegal with a semi auto unless it has a magazine capacity of greater than 2 i.e a FAC semi.
